Yeah as others sorta explained, the part you put in bold above doesn't even tell half the story. In T20, it's mostly about the run rate. I.e. runs per over.

So, 101/3 doesn't mean much on its own. If that's after 18 overs they could be sweating, but if it's with <16 overs it's just a matter of time before they would win.

Of course, strategy-wise, if you are 101/3 you can afford to be super aggressive because you have 7 more lives to play with. How aggressive you can be plays a big part because you need to be aggressive to score those 4s and 6s.

Once you get to know cricket it makes baseball pretty difficult to take seriously. If a game is slow it at least must have alot of strategy, imo. Cricket does have that; baseball is devoidof strategy.

I mean I don’t enjoy baseball very much, but that’s a ridiculous statement.

Enlighten us. How about an example of where/when a high degree of strategy is used in an MLB game? Something along the lines of what I just highlighted about cricket above.

In theory, maybe the sport does have the potential to be very strategic, but in MLB the biggest strategic moves are the double switch and shifting the outfielders 8 feet to pull. And MLB is even putting an end to those 2 things.

Yeah yeah, batting order and when to bring in relievers is key, I get that (but moreso in cricket). But in practice this has all become totally scripted. 'Roided-out wanker X is always batting clean up and douchebags Y and Z always pitch the 8th and 9th, respectively. Y could strike out the side with 9 pitches, they'll still bring in Z for the 9th w/o the manager moving a muscle in his old brain.

    Zero strategy.

I watched the very good video analyzing the play and why she's so high in turnovers. The team doesn't do a proper pick and she ends up double teamed a lot. Forcing the ball out of her hand.

Major League Cricket is both a real thing, and a joke. Last year they played all their games at two sites - the one in Texas that is being used for a few of the T20 World Cup games this year, and a site in North Carolina. So the "San Francisco Unicorns" played the "Seattle Orcas" in Texas last year.

I wonder if she can appeal or are her options over.

"Transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, who made national headlines in 2022 after winning an NCAA individual title, will not be allowed to compete in elite women’s races, including the 2024 Olympics, after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled this week that she lacks standing for her challenge to the rules of swimming’s world governing body. One point to each team (see the earlier Scotland v England and Nepal v Sri Lanka matches). That would ensure US advances out of the group.
