A player hit 3 grand slams in his debut for Baylor. It’s all downhill from here, nothing to look forward to but disappointment and dropping stats. https://www.espn.com/college-sports...-hits-two-grand-slams-34-0-softball-rout-utep
Meh. Been done… He joins Louisville's Jim LaFountain as the only players with that distinction. LaFountain hit two of his three grand slams in the same inning on March 24, 1976, in the second game of a doubleheader against Western Kentucky. He also hit a two-run homer in the 26-4 victory that was called in the fifth inning. That’s 14 RBI, not a mere 12.

There's been some discussion in the running world that some of this is due to improvement in shoe technology. Because records are falling at many age levels in many distance events, by both males and females.
I think it is more likely improved training. There seems to be more professionalism among coaching creeping into the younger ranks of runners across the board. Also, both Nike and Adidas have made a leap or two in terms of running shoe tech. For pro runners, Nike is giving some of the best a multi-thousand dollar shoe as a promotion to run in big races. There are discussions that any records set with that shoe should not be allowed or marked with an asterisk.
Interesting interview with Issa Tall about being a black sports executive. His statement about the French national team players being a reflection of the nation as a whole, while the support staff is very white, is important. https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/wa...across-france-and-the-u-s/bltc7c4723e460743ca
Day 13 of the Winter Olympics and the first day where meaningful ice hockey matches are played. Ridiculous format. Ok, I guess yesterday had some semi-meaningful matches, just not very appealing ones. It should be good from here on out. US&A with a pretty difficult QF matchup against Sweden. The Swedes finished in a 3-way tie for first in the group of death but got placed third because of empty net goals that Slovakia and Finland scored. Hence, a quarterfinal matchup that feels at least like a semifinal.
Canada and Czechia going to extra time. The Czechs were great in the third period. Deserved to win, really. Edit. Nice solo goal by Marner going through 3 defenders and the keeper . Canada advances.
Foxboro denying the WC matches...for now. https://www.boston25news.com/news/l...-before-world-cup/INKSSR3DKBE2ROUSQ6II3ED2KE/ The World Cup is just a few months away--but the town of Foxboro is denying a key piece of the puzzle. The town’s select board members voted not to grant FIFA, the Kraft Group, and the Boston 26 Committee the entertainment license needed to host the games. The town claims it still can’t get any answers as to where the $7 million slated for security is going to come from.
For anyone following F1, that Ferrari win! I'm not a fan of team Ferrari, but I hope that sticks. Love innovation like that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_reduction_system Could you provide more details on this particular design? I mean, DRS has been a thing for a while, and many teams have tried to be creative with it, even from before it was regulated.
