I was in the office sitting at the reception desk one Sunday when a guy who was 7' 1" walked in. From that angle, he filled the entire room.

I eventually sold him a house and got to know him pretty well. He had a brother who was 7' who played basketball on Andrew Gaze's Seton Hall teams back in late 80s. He also had a brother and sister who were twins and both 6' 5". Obviously I wanted to meet his parents, see where all this size came from. The dad was maybe 6' 1" and the mother maybe 5' 10". Where did that size come from?

Anyway, as I was pondering this, I got thinking of the twin brother. Can you imagine being 6' 5" and being the runt of the family?

James Edwards, a center with the Pistons is 7'1. Rick Mahorn, 6'10. You ever want to feel tiny, stand next to them.

I once met Ndamukong Suh for a work event. He had an inch or so on me but what was unbelievable was he was massive. I joke that he could probably lift me with a pinky. Surprisingly a nice guy.

Would just like to note, that is the UK flag, not the English Flag. Would also like to note that, among others, Mike Phelan (born in England) was coach of Manchester United when they won the EPL (3 times). So, no so much of an own as suggested.

I'm thinking the meme maker got "coach" and "manager" confused. Nobody really cares who the coaches are when a team wins, amirite?

I went to law school with Matt Henshon who was a starter on that Princeton team that nearly beat Georgetown (with Mourning). Matt was "only" 6'5" and he seemed huge.

And I once saw Shaq in the St. Louis airport----why he was in St. Louis, I have no idea. Just a massive human!

Addendum: so this was early aughts, and we were in St. Louis in June for the wedding of a friend of the family. My mother is not senile but she has a habit (which my sister and I tease her about without mercy) of saying some random person looks like "so and so celebrity." So we're in the terminal waiting for our return flight back to Atlanta. My mother looks up and says "look at this huge guy coming down the terminal ---- I bet he's a famous basketball player or something." My sister and I laugh and say "yeah, sure, mom..." And then we both look up and holy shit, it's Shaq. She loves throwing that story on our faces ever since.

The article goes into detail, but it's unsure of what if any message was meant to convey, focusing on him being a quirky person. I think the statement was loud and clear personally.

Right wingers shouldn't really be that pissed that they didn't understand a lick of the half time show. Many native Spanish speakers could barely make out the lyrics. I know a decent bit of Spanish myself and could barely understand a thing.

So, and I can't believe I have to say this... the basketball court is on top of the ice rink. The ice rink is always there, under rubber and plastic and lumber.

On especially humid spring days, players complain about the humidity on the court... because there is a rink under it.

More than a decade ago, I sat next to Alonzo Morning on a flight from Miami to DC, in business. the dude is huge and muscular. His hands were massive! I was too intimidated to ask him for a picture! lol
