Eleven Bravo is a United supporter; we've had a couple of discussions, but I don't ever do politics in that forum unless I see some shit, and so far, he hasn't posted anything that would ID him as one of them people. I've known about him for some time, tho. I don't think it's any harder to be a conservative now than it was before Obama was elected. There's no good reason for any conservative to care about what happens to people who are not White, Christian, and full citizens as a demographic. The concern they feign is limited to the ones they like (generally the ones who work domestically for them or perform some other menial service). I don't take the tactic of asking them how they like it now that children are being mistreated, because I don't like being lied to when they tell me they don't like that part of it. What you need to do is wait until larger numbers of White people start dying from disease or police actions and then tell him how glad you are that his choices have brought us all to this point. Give this another couple of years. Stay above the fray so you can live to see the outcome.
Good trolling of Olds here. I bet Lala feels the most snubbed. Months after the exchange of words, Pulisic was asked to put together his ultimate USMNT five-a-side team by Kate Scott in an exclusive interview with Paramount+. The USMNT captain rattled off Brad Guzan in goal, followed by Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, himself and Oguchi Onyewu. Pulisic noticeably left off Dempsey, Donovan and Howard, who are widely considered the three best players in USMNT history. The forward, though, did preface his picks by stating, “I’m just going to go more recent, because they’re my guys.” Still, Scott mentioned the glaring snubs, to which Pulisic replied, “I had to do it on the spot. There’s a lot of good names out there.” https://www.si.com/soccer/christian-pulisic-snubs-dempsey-howard-donovan-ultimate-usmnt-side
He has more nightmares of the Argies vs Orange Squad in the 1974 WC. This one doesnot even come close to that. At least it was a fight.
The GOAT breaks up with Under Armour https://sfstandard.com/2025/11/13/steph-curry-becomes-sneaker-free-agent-armour-breakup/ I wonder. If he signs with Nike, will the refs start calling all the fouls against him that are constantly ignored? And, will they give him retroactively all those finals MVPs that he deserved?
Perhaps the best part waa RonOld-o wasn't a big factor whether he was on or off pitch https://bsky.app/profile/joc1991.bsky.social/post/3m5kzdehes22e
The ever expanding number of teams in everything from the college football playoffs to the U 17 World Cup has made these “first time in X years” pure trivia. I figure we’ll be at a 128 team World Cup before I die. Each continent will have one host, with the later knockout rounds being rotated among them. Except Oceania. ******** them. Half the confederation will be underwater by then anyway.
Nah, by my estimate "only" two of the OFC countries will be underwater - Kiribati and Tuvalu - but they are Associate members and not Full members. The other countries all include High volcanic or Continental islands that won't go underwater.
The ********8ng Faroe Islands had a path to the WC Finals that, alas, just closed today. Granted, they needed to beat Croatia on the road, then they needed the Czechs to lose to Gibraltar. But still… They lost 3-1 today. They held a 1-0 lead for a bit over ten minutes in the first half.
Damn, it's been that long? I am old enough to remember watching Haiti play against Argentina at a World Cup. We needed to win and hope that Poland beat Italy in order to advance, and both ended up happening. Then we got destroyed by Cryuff's Netherlands in the next round, the game Feyenoord was referring to.
That Italian team had some all-timers. Monsters of the game like Dino Zoff, Giacinto Facchetti, Tarcisio Burgnich, Franco Causio, Sandro Mazzola, Gianni Rivera, Gigi Riva... Plus, they also had this kid who latter made it big in the US, Giorgio Chinaglia. They grossly underachieved at that WC.
I just looked it up: three other debutants at that World Cup. One of whom will never, ever return: Besides Haiti, it was the first World Cup finals appearance for Zaire, Australia, and . . . East Germany. Also of note, this and 1978 were the only WCs to feature two group stages, with the winners of the second stage playing each other for the Championship, and the runners up playing off for the 3rd place match.
Depending on your philosophical view of the world, but Zaire will either never return, will return as reincarnated, or will rise from the ashes.
