Given what I had read about their “big” portal gets, I thought we’d go 7-5 or 6-6, and the big season was next season…would he do enough in 2025 to make UNC a top destination for transfers and freshmen for 2026? Then maybe with more talent go 9-3, and then, if everything went according to plan, make the playoffs in 2027 and establish UNC as a 2nd tier football power like, I dunno, Oregon or Texas A&M.

We are not going 6-6. This is Urban Meyer with the Jaguars bad.

It's one of the saddest images I'll ever have permanently etched into my memory. A young Black man, representing a country that never did right by him, naively thinking things would get better enough to matter, and here we are 89 years later, quickly returning to the days he hoped would pass.

America used that man in their sick attempts to paint themselves as somehow significantly different from Hitler's Germany.

I got my official rejection from this phase of WC ticket lottery today, and I'm not even that disappointed by it. I've watched the majority of games in every WC since 1986, and between Trump dicking around with the tournament, FIFA dicking around with the tournament structure and charging ridiculous ticket prices, and generally not feeling great about being an American right now, this is the least excited I've ever been for the tournament, maybe with the exception of 2018. It would have been inconceivable to me even 2-3 years ago to think that we'd be hosting the tournament, and I wouldn't care that much about going to games, but here we are.

Group stage tickets for the US in LA are starting at over $1600 for tier C (there is supposedly a tier D that will be $60, but the WC is doing dynamic pricing, so doubt it will be that "low").

Yeah, I had already ruled out going to the West coast for US games, since I'm in Pittsburgh. I had thought about getting tickets for Philly, Toronto, or NY/NJ, but I don't want to pay hundreds per ticket to sit in the nosebleeds and potentially watch Uzbekistan v. Tunisia (no offense to either team). I figure that after the draw, prices on the resale market might go down for unappealing match-ups, but then again, do I really want to drive 3-6 hours and pay for a hotel to watch Uzbekistan v. Tunisia even if tickets are cheap just to have gone to the WC?

Yeah, I believe only about 10% of WNBA revenue goes towards player salaries. Its way higher in NBA and other big (male) leagues. I'm not sure of the exact degree of these differences because, frustratingly, articles that touch on this subject always fail to include any hard data. iOW, leaving out the most important thing.

Everyone should put Gilroy Ca on their Bucket List. It's quite easy to find...just head north US 101 and when you get within 100 mi or so...follow your nose. It's one of the few places on earth where there are no mosquitos or vampires! :geek:
