Our players were super excited to beat Club America and qualify. I don't know how well we will do, but our players at least will be taking it seriously.

Probably nothing I haven't already read somewhere else. I actually give Levy credit for not sacking him prior to the end of the season.

The US should not host any more soccer tournaments. I can't believe they don't want to allow Airton Costa into the country to play for Boca Juniors. Okay, dude was caught with his brother in a car with stolen goods some years ago, and was charged with robbery, but come on, he's just coming to play ball!

LA got a relatively tough group. Chelsea should advance, and Flamengo is going to be tough, plus an African team. It's not as tough as Seattle's group, but tougher than Miami's.

I need to look closer at the matchups, but my over/u ser for total points in this competition for MLS teams is 2.5. 3 draws or a win and you win the bet.

I’d take the under. I think the MLS teams will look competent in the attack against the other 2nd rate teams, but years of CCL play have taught me MLS defending kinda sorta sucks. I foresee a lot of 5-1 type scorelines for MLS.

I don't give a rat's ass about it other than I hope Chelsea and City make it all the way to finals, playing several matches with extra time along the way.

  8. Greenland barred from joining Concacaf:eek:
    https://www.vi.nl/nieuws/groenland-krijgt-geen-officiele-voetbalstatus-na-weigering-concacaf
Greenland does not get official football status after refusal of CONCACAF
An official international match of Greenland will not happen for the time being. The largest island in the world hoped to join CONCACAF. The federation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean unanimously ignored the request.
A place at UEFA was not among the options for Greenland, because the European football association only allows European countries. Greenland does not have that political status. At CONCACAF there are no regulations that prevent Greenland from joining, but member associations do not want Greenland to become part of CONCACAF. A reason for this was not mentioned
    .

    This is nonsense:
"A place at UEFA was not among the options for Greenland, because the European football association only allows European countries."
Given extreem circumstances and a strong link with Europe, UEFA does allow outsiders into the fold, like with Israel.
It would be a great opportunity to put shit on the doorstep of the USA by allowing Greenland in and thus make them access the best football environment the USA can only dream of.

We're already taking South American rejects, you can keep the European ones.

You mean, you'd take the over? Seems like a good plan. Would recommend placing all the bets now since the betting lines will probably change once the tournament kicks off.

No, I mean the MLS teams will garner two points or fewer. The 5-1 scorelines will be African or Asian team 5, MLS 1.

    And ending in a draw/PKs.

Oh, and PSG should be sending their second team, or one heavily filled with reserves since a lot played a long season, plus they ended up in the European Nations League Final.

    Love these old school stories.

The time Xavier McDaniel & Dale Ellis of the Sonics went at it over a gambling debt

"Dale Ellis comes back. X is already gone. He overhears that X is going to the office. Right? Goes to the office. Now the rest of the story I got from somebody else," OP continued.

"He said when he and X were in the elevator — and X had his daughter in his arms—and when the elevator door opens, Dale Ellis is standing right there. Remember, you had them big Motorola brick phones?" Olden said. "He said when the door opened, all he saw was X — bam! — with his child in his hand. So, Dale popped X with the — with the big-a*s phone. He cracked him while he's holding his daughter! And he takes off running."

Furious with what had just transpired, X left his daughter with SuperSonics scout Paul Woolpert, took off running after Ellis and eventually caught him in the parking lot.

"Paul said he whooped that man like there was no tomorrow. Like, he was whooping — when the police came, he was still whooping on this dude. Putting him in the bushes. Taking him out," OP expressed. "And then the next thing you know — everybody's traded. They got rid of them. They got rid of all of us."

I would think that not wanting to go to Greenland and freeze your ass off is reason enough. It's already bad enough that they have to play in Canada.

Could have fooled me. I thought there was a rule that CONCALAF teams must play 90% of their games in the U.S.

LMAO. You really expected TrumpCo to allow this felon/rapist/drug smuggler into the US? Just look at this violent thug!

The Citgo sign is a nice touch. My wife and I went to Cape Cod on our honeymoon and on the way home, Boston for a Red Sox game. Took the T to the wrong stop and were lost, but when I saw the Citgo sign in the distance, I knew we were close.
