Kids today have never lived in a world where Israel was anything but obviously genocidal.

  4. That's my greatest worry about this Gaza conflict.
The "old" anti-semitism was white christian murderous stupidity, based on made up fairytales of how ".." Jews were.
The rest of the world had nothing to do with anti-semitism. China/India/etc. don't have these cult like hate, white christians have been displaying for centuries.
But now I'm afraid a new anti-semitism is on the rise, one not based on bogus stories about Jews, but on actual barbarism by Israel.
The non-white, non-western world sees the images and how the west is having double standards.

Meh, winning should be the only motivation. Win the fücking game, not "winning" an argument with some beta who would rather have some artifice of temporary pseudo-authority.

There are real reasons why those guys don't exist any more:

It doesn't work, for one, and

    For two, it doesn't work.

If it did work, a manager getting away with berating a ref would persist as much as diving and simulation persist in the soccer. If it worked in baseball, Tony larussa would have been a golden god in Chicago.

But again, it didn't, and doesn't work, because it's stoopid.

We really do have to prioritize making sure not to become a Trump of the Left.

Yeah, imitating the crazy, infected zombies in 28 Days Later while surrounded by composed- looking people isn't doing yourself any favors in the short or medium term.

But I feel we'd still be seeing some aggressive arguing -at least in baseball - if not for VAR. That's what really put an end to it.

Anything that asks Netanyahu to take his knee off Palestine's neck is considered anti-Semitism today. It's like watching a police dog maul its victim while the cop shouts "Stop fighting my dog!"

The college kids need to learn how to be more deferent to Jews as individuals while still condemning the anti-Islamic (notice how there isn't an easily recognizable and oft-repeated term/buzzword/trigger fo- ...actually, there is. It's "Anti-Semitism". But that term's been co-opted by one group of Semitic people to the exclusion of all others) positions taken by the US. Muslims here simply don't have the influence that Jews have. I'd like to see more Jews help America become less anti-Semitic.

I am a Black American of several generations. I am four centuries of continued and compiled experiences that make the Holocaust seem like being tickled. But I've never had the kind of support behind helping rehab America that I think America deserves.

lol no. Pizza's probably just taking the piss out on your ********ery, as am I. You never had a point to begin with. The idea that we'd somehow become more like roaches by stepping on one just wasn't well thought out.

Let's talk instead about your massively failed comments about "catastrophizing". How do you feel now about those statements, knowing your own spouse might be swatted by some Christian White girl you dated in HS? It's much worse than any of you people thought it would be.

This election ended any chance you had of your twisted, libertarianesque viewpoints being taken seriously here. I mean, you're going to be okay going forward because you're White and Christian. You're good for baseball and basketball talk, but you're out of your depth when the victims of discrimination start to talk about our 24/7/365. Harriet Tubman would have shot you, son. Think before you try to place your opinions next to mine on the pedestal.

The WNBA is considered a ban on booing. Sure hope NWSL doesn’t become that soft.

    Agreed, to a point.

OTOH, baseball is the easiest game to use analytics to diagnose and treat and figure out how to win.

And if those SABR types, the quants in MLB front offices, and the Ivy League MBA types that every team except the Reinsdorfs hire to be GMs could figure out how to leverage tirades to extract more Wins Above Replacement, tirades would still widely exist.

Tirades aren't widely deployed any more, because they don't work, because they're stupid. All those smart guys and gals in MLB front offices have long ago figured this out.

I believe the same is true in other games as well.

Tirades aren’t employed anymore mostly because 20-30 years ago arguing balls and strikes became an automatic ejection. That eliminated almost every close call.

If the Prem had 18 teams like Germany and many other leagues, ManU and Spurs would be getting relegated

Meh, Billy Martin, and the like didn't argue balls and strikes.

And the automatic ejection for arguing balls and strikes his longer-standing than 20-30 years ago.
