I don't understand the obsession these brass workers have with dick bulges

I guess the artist - a woman btw - wanted to highlight his toughness. It backfired, because it became such a laughing stock that they had to remove the statue to reduce Gallardo's bulge, much to the amusement of Boca Juniors fans.

Makes me wonder if it's like the statue just off the Grand Place in Bruxelles (not the mannekin pis, but the one that is on the same street), where you are supposed to rub it for good luck. :whistling:

That's TOTALLY on the 3rd base coach. Stanton is a DH, not an outfielder, and he's getting up there. Add to that the fact that the ball wasn't hit that deep to begin with AND there were two outs...

The third base coach did his job all wrong there.

Edit: The Athletic tells me I'm right!

    https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/58...rld-series-game-3-giancarlo-stanton-playcall/

After mentioning that the Dodgers' left fielder doesn't have the most accurate arm in baseball, the paper turns to Stanton.

But in Stanton, the Yankees had yet another problem. He’s their slowest runner, constantly on cruise control as he tries to avoid the soft-tissue leg injuries that have plagued him in recent years. All season, he’s run out grounders with the urgency of a recreational jogger. He’s perhaps their most fragile player, yet he has been their best postseason hitter, with a team-best six home runs and a 1.110 OPS these playoffs. They didn’t want to see him attempt to turn on the afterburners, let alone slide into home.

But that’s how desperate the Yankees were. Starting pitcher Clarke Schmidt had put them in a 3-0 deficit, giving up a two-run shot in the first inning to Freddie Freeman and an RBI single in the third inning to Mookie Betts before exiting after just 2 2/3 innings. His opposition, Walker Buehler, was holding the Yankees’ bats down.

So, the Yankees sent Stanton home even though it was risky, and it backfired as Hernández made a perfect throw to nab him.

  8. Uhm, you're not very specific, given the number of statues on the Grand Place.

It's the only bronze statue as you exit the Grand Place on the street that goes to the Mannekin Pis. Tradition is you rub it for good luck when you pass it.

Inter used some shenanigans to sign Blaise Matuidi as a 4th DP. When the league office found out about it, Inter got a severe punishment. That’s why they sucked so bad when Messi got there…the roster was hobbled.

I was really shocked at what fans in some regions will do for a win, but I ought not be. They probably still have cops playing bagpipes for that crass, uncivilized SOB who stuck his hand out to award a home run to a hack Yankee batter.

Ive said it before... Somebody ought to raze the whole metro area and then build some schools. Hire teachers from out of region.

Two teenage girls in Yankee uniforms came trick or treating to the house last nite "why you got those on? They lost"

Giggling "we know. But we already planned to wear them"

So I gave them sour grape candies. JK, they got mini snickers & milky ways like everyone else. :D

A group showed up last night with one little blonde kid wearing an Al Hilal jersey of all things. My son was the one who answered the door, complimented the kid’s jersey and gave him extra candy both for the soccer theme and repping a relatively obscure team.

I saw a kid wearing a Al Hilal jersey with Neymar on the back a while ago.

Also plenty of kids wearing Messi shirts from Miami.

I don't generally support corporal punishment. On the other hand, I don't want to take any chances.
