Some of the hits from that era were perfectly fine ear candy. But there was never anything about the music of the Hager era that made me want to hear deep cuts. OTOH, I still occasionally go back to DLR-era albums. That era is just aging better, IMHO.
As an ACC fan, I am really enjoying watching Florida State implode on the gridiron. Sweet, sweet schadenfreude...
If you're truly an ACC fan, as opposed to a fan of one ACC program, you need FSU. You don't have anyone else to represent you. Clemson's done. Miami? We'll see. Otherwise, it'll just be another "See you in March" season for the conference. FSU'll be in one of the two football conferences soon enough..
No, they won't. Not this way, not as a stand-alone. They can't join the B1G10, they're not accredited. The SEC doesn't want them encroaching on Florida. They could try the Big 12, but that's a like kind exchange to the other also-ran Power 4 conference. College football seems to me to a bubble right now. If House gets re-negotiated so that all the little guys don't have to bear the $1 billion payout, that bubble could burst. I actually want FSU to stay. They've got the best women's soccer program since Anson Dorrance's pomp, an equally great softball program, and their men's hoops team is always a fun watch. I'm a believer that folks ought to be where they want to be, so by extension, that includes universities. So, let them pay the $500 or $600 million and they can go on their merry little way.
My childhood friend nickname is Memphis or Memp because he was a big boy and one friend called him the fullback out of Memphis St.
Not by the Association of American Universities, which is more exclusive than the Southern College Accreditation Council (something like that.) AAU only has something like 85 member institutions IIRC and 17 of those are in the Big 10. Only school missing out is Nebraska, which as an independent and potentially waaay bigger get than FSU, so it was allowed entry. From what I've read, Big 10 president's value that AAU accreditation more now than they did in the 90s.
Even the supporters of clubs in such illustrious leagues as those in Denmark and Greece? That's what cracks me up- minnow UEFA leagues talking shit because they're in the same continent with Spain, Italy and England. I mean, they DO have single table and theoretical* access to the UEFA Champions League, so there's that. *was it Fener who got screwed out of a berth because UEFA, allegedly full of football knowledge, was too irresponsible to draft a rule that makes the defending champion part of the draw BEFORE Liverpool won the CL in 2006 while showing fifth or sixth in the Prem?
It was Fener or Panathinaikos, I'm almost sure. Some big fish in a small puddle league- they probably win their league every other season or so, but still. I know they're in Turkey and Greece respectively, but they're the two that come to mind. The excuse was "Oh, they were paid handsomely for being removed from the draw/they weren't going to win anyway..."
with 2 minutes to go in the first half, the wide receivers for my Panthers have the same number of receptions as tackles. 1. It was Everton.
This was a technique issue. The easier finish was with his inside foot. I’m guessing the player is a lefty, afraid to use his right, thus he was always prone to drag it wide since he used his left.
Okay, so they ended up doing the switch at the league level. I recall the original discussion revolved around taking a crap team out of the draw from somewhere other than England. I could have sworn it was Fener.
my undergrad college’s football team is 0-3 on the season. They have yet to force the opposition to punt in any of those games. But don’t worry. They’re giving up an average of 60 points a game, so their return specialists are getting plenty of real game experience on kickoffs.
Derby County v Cardiff City. To make it even more amusing the miss was apparently against his old team.
Is there a Welsh League or is it all merged with the Premier League? Swansea and Cardiff are in the English Premier League and I guess so too Wrexham
