Body cam from Tyreek Hill incident yesterday..... Those cops are ********ing storm troopers. Based on their accents, they are all latinos....Despicable. What an embarrassment for @MiamiDadePD. This gangster behavior and complete lack of impulse control is the peak of unprofessionalism from these cops. They’re just desperate to dominate people. Imagine what they’re doing when it’s not Tyreek. https://t.co/Y8MUypAexk— Brian Tyler Cohen (@briantylercohen) September 9, 2024
At what point did they realize that the built black guy driving the fancy sports car was a Dolphins player? Shouldn't they have figured that out sooner?
Like clockwork....... Earlier in the day, the South Florida Police Benevolent Association also released a statement -- before the body camera footage went public -- saying Hill was "uncooperative" with officers. "Before the Dolphins game yesterday, an incident occurred where Tyreek Hill was placed in handcuffs before being released. First, to be clear, at no time was he ever under arrest. He was briefly detained for officer safety, after driving in a manner in which he was putting himself and others in great danger," Steadman Stahl, the president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, said in a statement. "Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs. Mr. Hill, still uncooperative, refused to sit on the ground and was therefore redirected to the ground," Stahl added. Stahl told the Andy Slater Show that Hill "escalated" the situation and it would have gone by faster if Hill had complied.
Uncooperative, by not rolling down the window? And then the other guys who pulled up in front being harassed for trying to de-escalate the situation... I don't think I need to wonder how this would have gone if the guy was just a normal person and not a star NFL player for the local team.
And then was elected sheriff of Wake County in 1978. A couple of times there were hostage situations, and he got in there to negotiate, and then he Y.A. Tittled the hostage taker. That only worked twice I think. Hostage takers wised up after that.
@superdave regarding Clark my complaint was more that she's going to at some point have to speak out about her fans and the way some of the media treat the league and her fellow players. It's like people can't just say she's a great player. They have to find a way to say she's a great player while denigrating the rest of the league and the rest of the players at the same time. Every foul that she gets is because people are jealous of her or there's always some racial context added or some homophobic context added. The WNBA lives at the intersection of woman's, race (being a predominantly black league), and sexuality (having a healthy number of gay players). She can't just do a Jordan. Well see can but you know, like Uncle Ben told Peter and all that.
Dutch footballers are opting en masse for international careers in Asia. In the battle for a ticket to the World Cup, Indonesia played a 0-0 draw against Australia on Tuesday. Remarkable: no less than ten players with a Dutch passport came into action on behalf of the Asian country. How is this possible? And: why don't above-average Eredivisie footballers like Mees Hilgers and Thom Haye prefer to wait for the Orange Squad?
Chile wins the non fair play award for this shameful goal, with the striker walking the ball into the net while the Bolivian goalkeeper is laying on the ground seriously injured... ...and they still end up losing the match to Bolivia at home
I have a Chile jersey that was a gift from my wife & son close to a decade ago just because I loved watching them so much. It's....been a while since I felt like wearing that thing.
A1: The Dutch East India Company A2: speculative, but perhaps because they would rather have a more or less guaranteed spot…or because they actually identify with their Indonesian roots and want to represent their other country?
Paolo Di Canio, of all people, had an open net and instead of scoring caught the ball as the opposing keeper was down injured. Sometimes even Fascists do the right thing!
As I recall, though, his coach said, "He could have put the ball into the back of the net AND THEN called for the stretcher." The Chilean guy should have just sidefooted the ball into the net from the edge of the penalty area and then started waving for help. He would have looked better and still go the goal.
Not everyone is a Jonathan de Guzman. Some people realize they want to play international football and know that they'll never be a path of them to play for Holland unless there's a couple of injuries and you might get a few games in and that's it before the next wave of Youngtown takes over. So might as well use your dual citizenship and go somewhere else. It's not been easy for us smaller Nations especially like mine one of the African nations watching so many players that could play for us end up playing for European power knowing full well if we just had a couple of them we'd be a Powerhouse ourselves.
Wait for a call that may never come? Lolol. If I'm a shoo-in, maybe I wait. If I'm on the bubble, I'm going elsewhere. The list of countries that have won their continental tournament since the Dutch won anything is pretty long. The Oranje are a formidable team right up until the semis or so, then they just implode, like the Euro 2000 PSO v. Italy.
Uhm, Their grandparents, Dutch and Dutch-Indo, anybody, whether Dutch or mingled Dutch with natives, are considered as "Indonesian" roots if born over there, for football reasons. It's a remarkable shift however, the perception of Indonesia from the 1960=1970ies. Then the hate versus Indonesia was huge among the repatriates, mixed blood or 100% Dutch, and in those days it would have been unthinkable for a grandchild to play for the redwhite flag.
Di Canio was given the Sportsmanship Award for his fair play. Of course that was not long after being banned for 11 matches for pushing the ref to the ground after being red carded.
