Yes, the team that was tackled normally keeps the ball, so long as any pass (deliberate or not) goes backward. That's true for all versions of rugby, as far as I know (it's been about 30 years since I watched league).
Rugby also has tied games, I didn't know that. I guess games having to have a winner is an American sports thing.
In fairness, there’s no better way to show the world French culture at the Olympics Opening Ceremony than the dancers being on strike. https://t.co/dUYrP6QEUr— Paul Watson (@paul_c_watson) July 23, 2024

There is a group stage, but it is 7s and the same team will play lots of matches in a day. Only reason I can think of why they are rushing through this is that the Stade de France is being used for athletics
I highly recommend that series. It is about the planning of the Olympics and in particular the Opening ceremony. That will be a tour de force if they can pull it. https://www.peacocktv.com/watch-online/tv/la-grande-seine/4648076656064829112
@argentine soccer fan Got some cash lying around? The chance to put in your hands an Argentine soccer relic Former Belgian goalie Pfaff puts his worldcup Maradona shirt on sale:
Thanks. have one with the name of Carlitos Tevez. He never wore it, but I got it for a very reasonable price.
The world is getting crazier and crazier. So much hatred! I guess some are bent on ruining every spectacle that can potentially unite people. The way things are going, pretty soon we won't be able to have any sporting events anywhere anymore. https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cxe24vg59lzt Arson attacks cause French travel chaos hours before Olympics open - as Eurostar cancels one in four trains
It sucks for those affected. Having said that I am in Paris now, this arson is only affected high speed trains going to the rest of the country. Paris local trains, metros and other public transportations. I am near Montparnasse station and 1 out of 3 TGVs are canceled there today.
Yes, I am reading now that this may have been timed primarily to disrupt the traditional start-of-vacation time for the French rather than the Olympics, although to me it can't be a coincidence that it happened on the eve before the opening ceremonies. Either way it's an act of hatred.
No doubt about that. It has caused serious disruptions to the large high speed routes. I am going to Lyon tomorrow and apparently all the trains to Lyon are on schedule. Hope it stays that way.
