I don't think 1,000 is a bad number for season tickets. Paul, you can get the ball rolling by purchasing a couple more!! As to saying what number is deserved, I don't think any person can prescribe a number. People make judgements about how they spend their money, so if a person decides on season tickets, then fine. This notion of what is deserved is far too subjective. Some people have limited resources, so can only attend a certain number of matches.
