    And that's it.

The league STILL doesn't get it.

Doesn't get what? How was MLS supposed to avoid what happened?

Not putting KC vs. LA on Direct Kick when it's being televised by a local (granted, Spanish) channel. Why not? They did it in the playoffs last year.

    No Colorado or SJ.

    Other game tomorrow.

This is why I'm glad Chivas will be on the West Coast--that much better chance for a late game.

There's always gotta be a late game. It's just wrong for things to end at 930 ET.

It's STILL so damn difficult to be a fan of this league in terms of getting to see the games on TV.

    Oh come on. That's ****************.

I've got DirecTV with the sportspack, DirectKick, and an HD receiver that allows me to see HDNet on my non-HD television set. With all the re-broadcasts (like met/dal at 3am on FSSW, and several times tomorrow on MSG) I'll get to see 85%-90% of the 150 regular season games. And of those 130 or so games, I'll get to see over 200 seperate broadcasts of those games.

I can't think of any other league that I could watch anything approaching 30-40% of the games. Too many overlaps and too many games not broadcast at all.

Major League Soccer is the most widely viewable league in the United States.

Huh?!! When I flip through the channels, I get 3 or 4 different stations airing different baseball games; about 3 or 4 stations with golf; then there's a couple with tennis/basketball/basketball reruns/bowling; 2 stations with fishing.

I get 1 that shows soccer - Fox Sports World - on a regular basis.

And then ESPN2/ABC - if I'm lucky and the spelling bee doesn't go into extra innings.

What about Fox Sport World Espanol, and TyC Sports, and Univision, Galavision, and Telemundo, and what about MSG? I dunno about you but between all of them I pretty much catch just about any game that matters, couple that with PPV and you can truly watch anything that matters.

MLS has a better chance of getting broadcast than most NFL teams. I mean sometimes they dont even get on TV unless they sell out the stadium.

Well, I don't get MSG and don't get TyC Sports, whatever that is. But yeah, I forgot about the others. Guess I'll calm down now.

Do the math. 3 or 4 baseball games - out of 14 or 15 games every day. That's 20%. I can watch 80% of all MLS games this season without trying.

Yeah, I know. I actually didn't read your post real carefully before I shot my mouth off. I gotta stay level-headed.

The problem is that 90 percent of the public doesnt get anything more than ESPN2. All those other channels you have to have a satelite to get. Most of the public isnt going to be willing to pay extra to get a satelite or even if they have a satelite pay extra to get special channels that will show games. Me for example I get all the espn's, abc, and fox sports southwest with our Direct TV package. This means I get one MLS game a week, when they show it, and about 10 Burn games a year on fox sports southwest. That's not really a big footprint of the league, it's hard for me to even get to catch that one game a week and I"m a huge fan who actually wants to watch the game. You guys remember the days when there was two or three nationally televisted MLS games a week. I remember that record setting day when there was a regualr season game on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2; look at all the progress we've made since then.
