Last night on Jeopardy, they had a category called "Ode To England" where the clues were all in poetry form...They put up a visual of a cannon...and I can't remember the poem, but the clue was basically, "The English football team represented by this logo"...And a chick buzzed in and got it!! Actually, it looked like all of them were buzzing in...Odd to see them throw an Arsenal question in there. WE'VE ARRIVED!!
Pssh, there was a whole category about the Ashes a week ago. The response on BigCricket is outstanding.
Better to be ON jeopardy than IN jeopardy. The thread title got me a little nervous at first until I re-read it.
This may have been mentioned elsewhere - but I noticed that the new Trivial Pursuit has an MLS question: Something like: Who was the youngest MLS All-Star at 17 in 2001? And the answer is.... ...Santino Quevanta. I'm glad I didn't get this question, because it would have been depressing to get this wrong...
Last week on Jeopardy, the category was "Sports Cities." Each clue in the category was a team name, with the correct response being a U.S. city. The clues covered teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB, but the big money clue in the category was "Burn." The correct response, of course, was Dallas, yet none of the contestants even buzzed in.
About 3-4 years ago, Jeapordy had an entire MLS category. The questions weren't exactly challenging, and the MLS PR staff had to help 'em get the questions, one of which was This team with a patriotic nickname plays in New England. In some ways, it was depressing.
