I haven’t watched any other Jamie Foxx movies, but I tried to watch some of his latest comedy special this year, and I came away thinking I didn’t need to watch anything else of his. Sorry!
It's all good. This is a biography (of sorts) of Ray Charles. It's really good, IMO of course. It has a few funny parts, but it's not really a comedy. There were times when it was done so good, I forgot it wasn't Ray Charles.
My soccer movie viewing was significantly depressed by the state of life in 2025. I'm even thinking of boycotting WC 2026. So, in 2025, I only reviewed 15 movies / series / and 1 play. At least I published my 500th soccer movie review in 2025. So here's my best/worst list for 2025. https://soccermoviemom.com/best-worst-2025/
"When Soccer Came to America" is on HBO Max. It's really a look at the pop culture side of the NASL with a brief look at American soccer history before the NASL, but it's interesting stuff. It's definitely not anything groundbreaking, but it is a fun watch.
There’s a new German comedy film on Netflix called Eat Pray Bark (2026). It’s not a soccer movie, so I’m not going to review it, but the star is a very good-looking former Icelandic NT footballer (Rúrik Gíslason). Very good-looking.
Balls Up (2026) is a Mark Wahlburg comedy about condoms designed to win the World Cup. I felt sorry for the actors in this dreadful film from Amazon. See my full review at https://soccermoviemom.com/balls-up-2026
Little Angels (2025) is a kids movie, but it is not about the girl athletes, it's about the male coach who succeeds because of all the females who surround and support him. See my full review at https://soccermoviemom.com/little-angels-2025/
The first episode of Four Years In The Making is now on HBO Max. It's a look at the USMNT's runup to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
