If anyone's interested and near Silver Spring, Maryland, it'll have 2 documentaries on African women's soccer, which have spent a year touring film festivals and have done well, but haven't had a general release yet. They'll be on in Silver Spring at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, in its New African Film Festival.
First up is Khartoum Offside, its first U.S. screenings (March 7 & 10). It's about a club in Sudan before the 2019 revolution there, and it won the African Movie Academy Award for best documentary. Freedom Fields (March 17) is about women's soccer in Libya, and was directed by Naziha Arebi.

Last year I made a Khartoum Offside thread and I'm still waiting to see it. :) @Smallchief asked, "When are we going to see this film in the U.S.?" ...Uh... well, there it is! (I guess it's not near you, so, sorry in advance. I'm sure it'll hit the streaming/DVD eventually.)

Just a tip for anyone in the area. But maybe if you've seen a good movie lately you can post it here and decide if you'd give it ☆☆☆☆☆ and stuff.

Also highly recommended, the thread by movie guru @mjlee22
