So I'm driving to work this morning and I have just switched over to the sports news on KROQ, and some bozo (I didn't catch his name) is giving the highlights of last night saying somebody called in saying "just don't talk about hockey and that damn futball". So instead of saying how hockey is a great sport, he decides to go off on soccer instead. He replies "don't even compare the puck and soccer. Soccer is sooooo boring. It takes 30 minutes to get across the field...there is no contact... and if I had to compare soccer to anything, it would be ...umm, I would say it would be like being gay"..and they all laugh. And they wonder why we soccer fans are so paranoid of the media...This doesn't happen to other sports.

so, when it comes to sports radio, a KROQ is a CROCK is a KROQ... et. al. ad infinitum. The gay-bash bit: surprised they got away with that. Where's a Hollywood liberal when you need one? Why isn't Striesand or Cher or Rosy all over this? What really hurts is that such clueless rants get broadcast, and perpetuate a false image of soccer among the great unwashed. Keep in mind, this will accomplish the following: 1) provide proof to Money (and therefore his bosses) that people listen to his show. 2) provide proof to Money that he is getting under your skin, which was his goal in the first place.
i know that it's difficult to let it go -- but you're obviously listening to KROQ because you find it entertaining to some extent. even as a self-proclaimed soccer fanatic, i really think Money is hilarious. i remember when the Galaxy won last year and Money was like, "well, do you guys want to hear who won the MLS championship?" and everyone on the show said "No." and he said "okay" and dropped. i got really annoyed by the whole bit. but SoFla's right. if i didn't like it, i should change the channel. but if you look at it like this -- the guy can ACTUALLY equat playing soccer with being gay, then what can you expect. the guy's a homophobic retard and that's why he's frickin funny and not actually of any other kind of substance, nay intelligence.
Don't sweat him. "Money" tried to fill in as a sports talk host ONE DAY and was so horrific, it was absolutely side-splittingly laughable! Almost made you feel bad for the clown, it was that much of a train wreck. He tucked his tail and ran.
The constant whining is what got this country created in the first place. If people didn't say anything we would still be run by the royals in England. There would be no MLS on ESPN or Fox Sports. You still listen to KROQ? First off, KROQ has turned into one of the biggest corporate whores in Los Angeles, much like the rest of L.A. FM radio. The days of KROQ playing good new music ended in 1997, now they are just like the rest of the stations in LA, same 10 songs over and over without any new music unless it has the corporate music seal of approval. 2) Kevin and Bean stopped being funny some time ago, no their not as bad as most of the "Drive Time Funny Guys" (Mark and Brian, I'm looking in your lame ass direction), but they still suck. Money is only trying to be as much like Jimmy Kimmel as possible, hoping he can get his own show some day, SORRY MONEY, IT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN! Jimmy K used to be the old sports guy for the KROQ morning show but the day he and Adam Carrola left was the day the funny died on KROQ, now it's just another lame ass morning show. The real shame about KROQ is the music though, remember Rodney on the Roq? That guy knows good music, I don't even think he works for their sorry asses any more, he probably gave up when they started playing Limp Shitzkit. KROQ SUCKS as does most of LA radio What are you going to do, Corporate rock sucks.

If they were constant, could we at least keep them from constantly appearing in soccer boards? You know, to make them appear less constant. I mean, if you advertise them more constantly, they will BE constant insults. Just a crazy idea that constantly pops up in my head on a constant basis.
Hey soccerfn, I'm with ya. Too many soccer fans have internalized the criticism. Some of these guys cutting you down fit that classic condemnation of liberals: they won't take their own side in a fight. Of course we hear that angry complaints are counter-productive. So we whine. Then that is, of course, dismissed as counterproductive. So we give up and rely on our our own dweeb subculture's second rate media. Then when our occasional major game on network TV is cancelled at the last minute for an infomercial, or the World Cup is completely ignored by the newspaper, the programming directors and editors have the balls to say "Well we didn't hear a lot of angry complaints..." I already sent "Money" an e-mail, letting him know we're out here, which I'm sure he'll enjoy. It wasn't self-righteous or logical crap like this. Just insults.

KROQ has not been the quality music groundbreaker it once was for a long time. I stopped listening years ago. Forget those guys.
