Hey, I'm interested in playing in some leagues in the DC area, I'm at American University. Any tips as to where I could get a decent game....I'm not college good but I love to knock the ball around and can hang with most premier kids....want a competitive game... any ideas?? Thanks

Ask this on the DC United board.

If you're looking for a league try these links: http://www.mdcvsa.org/links.html
    http://www.wisl.org/

For pick-up games try the mall, especailly around the polo fields, the area around the Lincoln memorial and sometimes the elipse in front of the white house.

Also, may try joining one of the DC United Supporters clubs, I'm sure you'll find plenty of people who pay regularly there.

However, I'm surprised that you can't find a game or two at AU.

Here are some more to look in to:

    • Northern Virginia Coed Adult Soccer League (www.eteamz.com/nvcasl)
    • VCSRA (www.coedfun.org)
    • Arlington County Coed League (www.tidg.com/kicks)
    • Capitol Coed (www.capitalcoed.com)

As for men’s leagues that I know of, try:

    • Capital Area Soccer Association (www.casasoccer.org)
    • Northern Virginia Soccer League (www.hotstat.com/league.cfm?ID=417)

I know there are several groups of guys that play pick up on the Mall on Saturday mornings, some on the Ellipse and others near the FDR memorial.

There’s always indoor too, but those teams are a lot harder to get on. The spots around town are:

http://www.sports-network.com - indoor soccer in Manassas
http://www.pwsi.org/totalsports.html - indoor soccer in Woodbridge
http://www.rockvillesports.com/ - indoor soccer in Rockville

    How about in Loudoun County

I too just moved to the area and am looking to join a coed team (and/or) some pickup games, but out in the Loudoun County area near Dulles airport.

Any links to leagues out that way?

The DC board F.A.Q. looks like they are planning on including such information but don't have it at the moment.

    Thanks for the help.

A couple of years ago I used to play indoor at Maret School (NW) with member of the Swiss Embassy which is right next door. During the winter you might try that.

Re: How about in Loudoun County

A good place to play pick-up is in Reston (not too far from Dulles) at Langston Hughes Middle school on Wednesdays around 6:30 pm.

Also, if you;re looking for a league in the Dulles/Louden area, check the links included at the top of this thread. In this area I would recommend North VA Coed adult soccer league or Virginia's Coed Sports & Recreation Association, Inc.

I think Louden has a rec elague but I think they only play Summer or Fall.

There's also pick up at Little River Elementary in South Riding on Tuesdays and Thursdays at about 6, and the Herndon Rec Center on most weeknight evenings.
