Did our local CSN (DC/Baltimore) stop showing the taped EPL matches? I turned it on today and there are infomercials. Anyone have a phone number?

Just checked their website and there wasn't one there. Just their email address: viewermail@comcastsportsnet.com

I'm going to email them about this - soccertv has them showing Arsenal/Blackburn today, which I had wanted to get on tape...

You've obviously never dealt with COX. I hated them in Arizona, then really learned hatred in Fairfax County.

I've got FSW on Cox Cable in Fairfax and have never had a problem. Are you talking about digital?

Amen my brother. They were more happy to process my cancellation than they were to fix the damn problems I had with my digital cable.

    Jacknuts!

Help in an effort to see more soccer on t.v.!!!!!!

I don't know about you, but I need to see soccer just like a crack addict needs some crack. I'm especially more desperate now that MLS season is over and I can't see any more D.C. games. Comcast had been showing an EPL game once every week on tuesday at noon. It was a game from the past weekend and it was always much more exciting than the only other game I get to see every week (boring first round champions league game on ESPN). However, the past few weeks, Comcast has completely removed this and they apparently think that infomercials and showing the same exact show every day is the way to go. On Monday and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., they showed infomercials and then each day at 1p.m., the showed Behind the Glory: Terell Davis. I've e-mailed Comcast asking them to begin to show the games again. I'm begging you all to do the same. I put this in the D.C. board because I assume most of you have Comcast because it's an east coast channel. Anyway, you e-mailing them would be much appreciated by me and a couple of friends who had a routine of watching the game every week at my house. Thanks in advance. (BTW, I searched the Comcast T.V. listings and couldn't find this any day of the week at any time. However, if you find it, please notify me.)

Sachin, I just made a thread like this and then realized yours. The past couple of weeks I haven't seen a game and it is oh so frustrating! Now that D.C. is done for the year and I'm 16 so I can't order things on t.v., I have one boring champions league game a week. E-mail Comcast. I already did.

To make things worse, they showed Behind the Glory: Terell Davis two days in a row at the same time. Before they had shown the game twice. Once at noon on Tuesdays and at like 2 a.m. or something. Now, they're showing either. Comcast are seriously horrible!

I've finally had it with Comcast

I've taken enough crap from Comcast over the past year to last a lifetime - When I ordered digital cable a year ago, they said my digital would be "upgraded" to fiber-optic within "a month or two," which would allow me to access such rare premium channels as Comedy Central and E!. Never happened, and now when I call or write, they won't even give me a hint as to when the upgrade might be completed (or started, for that matter).

They tout the "digital" sound deliverd by their digital system - so why are all their digital channels broadcast if FVCKING MONO! WAY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY SURROUND SOUND, A$$HOLES!

The final straw is that they've eliminated FSW from their digital systems all over the region - apparently it's in direct competition with all the soccer and rugby they show on the Outdoor Life Channel. For the past couple of months, I've been hearing rumors that they're about to cut FSW from their DC system. I'm not going to wait for the axe to fall - I just ordered DirecTV.

I am very much looking forward to calling up those ba$tards to cancel my "digital" cable...I'm sure they won't even give a rat's a$$.

I've dealt with Cox in the past, and I can tell you this much: if you've got ComedyCentral and E!, and stereo reception, you're doing better than anyone with Comcast DC.

Fox Sports does it too. They started showing EPL matches from FSW back in late summer on Tuesdays at noon, and Fridays around seven. Channels like MSG, Empire, Comcast, Fox Sports all showed these matches up until a few weeks ago. From my knowledge, Blackburn v. Arsenal was on this afternoon. Maybe this corresponds with the ending of the World Series? I dunno. Hopefully this will be a permanent fixture to these channels.

Just in case someone has difficulty with the Comcast email, here's the email address.

    viewermail@comcastsportsnet.com

Don't forget to mention that DC United coverage was the highlight of the entire channel for you!

Also, Comcast and Fox have a huge fued with one another. Comcast refuses to add FoxSportsWorld as a channel because of this feud. If you want to mention FSW (optional) make sure that you mention that you are considering changing to satellite (Dish Network or DirecTV) to get FSW and the MLS Shootout package.

If anyone ever gets the opportunity to become a Nielsen Home and affect ratings, please do it and set your TV to every single soccer game shown.

Because of things like this I've considered many times cancelling Comcast and getting a DirectTV system.

Anyone have any experience with these and have reasons why I shouldn't?

If needed I'd be happy to start a seperate thread.

I got the opportunity (during a trial period). I did what you suggested.

Needless to say, I am no longer a Nielsen Home.

It appears they give trial periods, and then pick and choose whom they want. :(

    Comcast sucks. I got Directv.

I keep hoping Comcast will go out of business.

same situation you were in - I cancelled Comcast and got DirecTV. I spent the first week in front of the TV amazed by FSW.

ComSuck was more happy to process my termination request than to fix my digital cable when it was broke. Add to the fact I could never get anyone with half a brain to give me the MLS package and DirecTV was such a deal for me.

And now, I also get the NFL package and waste every Sunday watching lots of football.

Ed, I know that you are in my 'hood and I've got news on the "upgrade" to fiber-optics. My cable has been out due to upgrading to fiber-optics! So, I'm guessing that they'll actually get it done sometime next year. In the mean time, I'll just keep paying to watch the blue screen...or the "channel unavailable - it will return shortly" messages... ;)

    DISH

Way up here in Amish land we have the Comcast monopoly too. We finally got fed up with the @##*)(#@ at Comcast and look to choose between Dish and Direct TV. They are about the same, but when choosing, check about getting local channels. With Dish I get the locals (except for the CBS idiots in H'burg for less than 5 a month. Works great and FSW is there all the time!
