Nice spread, 4 pages on French soccer in the current issue of soccer america (cover is pricetags of Americans Donovan, Beasley, etc). It talks about the immigrant youth that turned into the class of world football, the likes of Pires, Zizou, Desailly, Vieira, etc. Worth a look as an intro to French soccer, but if you are here you likely know all the articles are going to tell you, except that Zidane's real first name is Yazid. Includes an article on Barthez/Marseille, and briefly talks up the futures of the next generation of Gallas/Boumsong/etc.
No mention of Le Tallec, though I expect good things from him. And by nice spread, I meant by US soccer media standards, so if you're used to 442 don't expect to be blown away. But it is good to see the mention, and the recognition for the insane amount of talent flowing through France.
Yes but as it mentions it isn't anything new. Speaking of great talent in Ligue 1, Dado Prso is going to be pursued by Fulham when the transfer market opens up.
They can pursue him all they want. Leaving the top club in France for a mid table EPL team would be a dumb move and a step backwards. If Prso did this he is a greedy money loving f*****. Ok fine if you wanna leave Monaco and go to Chelsea or Arsenal or Man U but f****** Fullham ???? You've got to be kidding me. Sorry I was very angry when I read that as you can see.
not just Champions League for the sake of being there but Champions League with a team that can make at least the quarter finals. Monaco is kicking so much butt right now both domestic and European you'd be a fool to leave in Janurary unless the club was forced to sell you to clear debts.
