Well to be fair, two analysts haave us sliding in second behind LA, which I think is right. But overall they have us finishing fifth with our only hope being Grimandi. I guess if they had known about the tentative situation with Grimandi then everyone would have pegged us last.

Dallas always sucks, and this year will be no different. SJ has been decimated by injuries and defections, and KC has some HUGE defeciencies. Why does SA always rank on us? And I think I'll keep the article to remind them about next September.

    5th overall

If it were a single table the Rapids would probably be 5th overall!

    Predictions

Just WHEN have the 'pundits' been correct??

KC and Chicago were dead last picks, yet became champs.

Rapids in the Championship? Never predicted.

For a while, DC was everyone's pick, and recently it's been Chicago despite their not being the team that they used to be.

For all the times LA has been picked as the class of the West/League/Universe, they have but one Championship.......

The trouble with the MLS is that we, as fans or media, don't really have much depth of knowledge on the day-to-day twists of our teams. Even the Rapids, with all of the inside information, I cannot tell you if Grimandi is going, Beckerman is starting, Schmidt is starting, Spencer is 'playable' or if Herdsman will be marking Donovan Saturday! Sigh. What I know of SJ is pitiful...Oh, Canon's gone? Who is the new goalie?? Did you know that DeRosario is out for the year??? Where's Barrett?? Is Dayak Ok, fully recovered? I have people on my Fantasy teams EVERY YEAR that are hurt and out, but I haven't heard (and I do OK at Fantasy...).

My, it's no wonder the columnists have no clue. As fans, I'll bet we'll do as well predicting, especially if you ignore our team, The Rapids, and just look at the other 9 teams.

    We'll know in October.

Nothing makes me happier and more confident than these idiots piling on and predicting gloom and doom. I am so confident of the team that these prognostications actually bring me pleasure because it will be even more fun rubbing our success in their faces. As has been said before:

NO ONE LIKES US AND WE DON"T CARE!

Weren't these the same guys that said the US didn't have a strong war plan and were short handed in the field? I'm sorry must be me just lumping all the journalists into the same pot.

Championship season this year! This team is strong!
