Soccer America - 43rd Best Magazine

Wow. Good find. Just to be mentioned is impressive, although the write-up on SA, albeit accurate, was more "small fish in a near empty pond" type of compliment. Nonetheless, the fact that it's on the list is, in my opinion, another step forward for acceptance of soccer in the maintstream US society. Whetehr that's what soccer fans are striving for or not, well, that's another issue for another thread.

 

It beat Field & Stream and Yoga Journal. Obviously there's no stopping us now.

 

That's odd given how many fishing shows you see on TV, but given the Yoga-bashing tendencies of the mainstream media, it's no surprised (have you ever seen ESPN even mention the Extreme Yoga Championships? I thought not).

 

It also beat ESPN the Magazine, Newsweek, Playboy, and Rolling Stone.

 

Highly unscientific poll. And, then there is this bit of early reader reaction:

'Have fun reading ToyFair, Sports Compact Car and Wizard. Losers.'

 

ESPN does absolutely nothing for yoga in this country.

 

Now if it were only one of the 50 easiest magazines to find ...

 

pretty subjective stuff, but nice all the same. hmm, time clearly over newsweek? would have to take exception to that ;-)

Pretty honest viewpoint from one who studies media. I guess i was right.
