Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances the CBS3 video is down, and i hadn't heard the kyw spot ... any chance they've been copied/recorded/archived?
Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances The video's still there Dill0n. You might have to scroll through or refresh to see it. It was the first video to appear when I looked just now.
Boosters Bombard Baltimore http://www.delcotimes.com/WebApp/appmanager/JRC/Daily;jsessionid=jb2LHR4L1nMgdpMLnqQ1SkZJC60vX6lzD21 Nothing really new here, but still more press.
Re: Boosters Bombard Baltimore http://www.delcotimes.com/WebApp/ap...r21.content=/DCT/Home/ContentTab_News_1444395 This link worked for me. YMMV
Re: Boosters Bombard Baltimore Good to see Kirkland show what he really wants: the stadium coming to town as a leveraging tool to get other stuff as well.
Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances Got a mention in a DN piece, with my awful quote: http://www.attytood.com/2008/01/philly_sports_these_are_the_ti_1.html
Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances Did you bother to read the "Comments" on that site? Biggest bunch of inveterate soccer AND 610WIP bashers I've heard from in a while. Ironically, the trouble is their soccer bashing sounds JUST LIKE their mortal WIP enemies'!
Re: Boosters Bombard Baltimore Wait just a minute here, fellas and gals! There is some NEW INFORMATION in that article (or @ least the first time I have seen it EXPLICITY stated). Based on Rendell's numbers, the state actually only has to come up w/ $15 mil from the Capital Budget!! That is a HUGE difference from the $45 mil that we have been kicking around!
Re: Boosters Bombard Baltimore Frank, I think that information/calculation is in the "Letter from Rendell" that was recently posted.
Re: Boosters Bombard Baltimore I'm sure, but I don't recall having seen that letter. Thanx - found it (http://www.philly.com/philly/news/local/13859691.html)!
Re: Soccer fans out to light spark I think this is a really a great article for us. Above the fold on the front page of the Inkys local section with a great pic of the lads. It’s the first time I can recall the food drive being mentioned in one of the big Philly newspapers. Major props to catsoccer and Sandra D for their help this past year and quotes in the article. Nice work by Jeff Gammage in revealing that we are not a bunch of overgrown frat boys but an ever expanding group of soccer fans and that the Sons of Ben are already working to become part of the fabric of the community, even before the team arrives. Reading that piece first thing in the morning set the tone for what turned out to be a great day for us.
Re: Boosters Bombard Baltimore The headline is a bit misleading... but it is always good to get a feature article and good press. Nice pic of James Taylor announcing the Sons of Ben food drive donation at the Bernadine Center last month accompanied the article in the hard copy of the Delco Times.
Re: SOB's on AOL nope, not at all ... just pointing you in the direction of where it's already been posted. your link came from AOL, the one i referenced (i believe) came from irishoutsider.com (which actually links to the same AOL page). it's all good.
Martin Rogers writes about the SOB's I hope this wasn't in another post, but I'm at work and can't fact check. In his latest blog entry yesterday, Yahoo's Soccer Expert Martin Rogers has some very kind words regarding the SOB's. "Several sets of fans are worthy of mention, especially those from Toronto FC and DC United, however my favorites right now are the Sons of Ben." http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/blog/sow_experts/post/MLS-becoming-fan-tastic?urn=sow,63147
Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances Keeping track of ALL our numerous, recent "Appearances" is starting to be a FULL-TIME job for somebody.
Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances CBS news pice was great. I saw something about the stadium on page B1 of the INKY yesterday, but could not stop to read it all. Cannot find in online now -- anyone with a linky?
Re: Official :: SoB FAQ & Media Appearances Check the Philly thread, "Pileggi on Stadium," for the stinky Inky linky to which, I presume, you refer. It IS still working!
