Real simple, just wondering how many of us are regularly posting on this forum. Just post your name and your interest in the canadian subsection. I am Mikdonsen, main interest is toronto FC, canadian national, and soccer in StJohns.
I post here occasionally, and read the board regularly. I generally post in the TFC and Ice Hockey forms where I mod.
I'm here often (as I should be). I've been a Mod here for many years and was also, until recently, a Mod at TFC. I had to give it up due to time constraints. My clubs are, of course, Canada and TFC and the Blizzard (of course).
I occasionally post in this forum. I care about how Canada does in WCQs but I don't care much about the Canadian MLS clubs or the CSL.
I post here when the CMNT plays...or are preparing for an upcoming match. I usually stick to the Liverpool forums though
holla! i have an interest in the national team and some clubs abroad with canadian talent. i also support TFC domestically.
I post here too. Follow both TFC and Canada because I like the abuse. No matter how badly they screw with my emotions, I still keep watching. The more you suffer, the more it shows you really care right?
That's Miro Kliment, right? Anyways, I post either here once in awhile but most often on the TFC thread. The other forum I post on is the Voyageurs (same name).
Yes, that's right. He has been banned from just about every forum you can think of. Big Soccer, Voyageurs, U-Sector and RPB have all given him the good old dropkick.
Ahhh, good to know. I always used to shoot back him over at CBC but I don't know if my replies ever got up. With Molinaro now over at Sportsnet, we can figure that Miro will follow.
Okay all, enough discussion please about past horrors. Let us stick to the topic of the thread, which is for all present to introduce themselves.
Random question. Mostly political. http://www.fastesttrain.org/ Why won't Canada invest on high speed rail? Victoria to Halifax is about 6,200 kms A train would need to average 259km / hour to cover that distance in 24 hours. Give an hour on average for stops in the biggest cities between the cities add add another 6-8 hours. I guess Airline tickets would still be much cheaper and take only 4-6 hours total. Never-mind I was just wondering.
I lurk, mostly on the CONCACAF Forums now but Canada once and a while too. Used to post more frequently and even was a mod on this forum for a while 4 years ago.
why doesn't the US have high speed rail? indeed you answered your own question, the cost of cross-country high speed rail infrastructure would be astronomical and take more time than a flight anyway. VIA already has regular cross country rail anyway. Southern Ontario may get high speed rail before the decade is out, though, possibly through to Montreal. the thing you have to remember is a country like Japan with incredible public transport is very geographically compact.
