I have a good friend out in Oklahoma who I've been promising to visit for years. So I found a decent airfare and now I'm heading out there to see the match on March 29. Anybody else heading out there? Anything going on besides the game itself?
I would be pleased to go... but you know... its a VERY large travel... and of course I'm sure your gov won't give the visa in order to enter your country... well its a ad world
What are you wanting to do? Bricktown is a pretty safe bet. It has a canal setup kind of like the riverwalk in San Antonio, lots of bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. There's always a lot of hot women out there too. I've found the whole "I'm from out of town" bit usually works pretty well, even if you're not. We have some decent bands that are usually playing at one of the bars down in Bricktown as well. Glad to see people are coming to the game from out of town. Any support we can get for an expansion team is always welcome.
Yup, I've went to Bricktown a few years ago. Nice place. Actually, I was wondering if there were any open practice sessions the night before, or perhaps an autograph session. Just wondering what official was being planned in addition to the match, if anything.
I know that match day is supposed to be an all day event with fan access to the players, autograph sessioin, etc. I'm not sure of the specifics but it's not going to just be a game and then you go home. It's more than that. As for other things to do, if you like animals, check out the OKC Zoo, one of the top 10 in the country. If you like art check out the Oklahoma City Musuem of Art downtown, there's also the Bombing Memorial and the Myriad Gardens.
advertising I tried to email Brad Lund at express sports about the advertising, but I haven't heard back yet. I think he's the guy to contact hopefully. It's bothering me I haven't seen or heard anything about the game, but maybe I've just missed it. I figured they would get the word out to everybody they could.
Just wondering if anyone was considering having a Big Soccer tailgate party prior to the match for all those Big Soccer people coming in from out of town to have something to do and not be so out on there own. Just a thought.
tailgating I'm down with some tailgating. Which parking lot? BTW, I emailed Ayala about the advertising this morning & I haven't heard back yet. Hopefully he's busy getting the word out about the game.
A few days before the game? That is cutting it close. I would hope that 10 days out the ads would start, and increase as the game got closer.
I got a response from Ayala. He said, "MEDIA CAMPAIGN BEGINS TODAY", so that's comforting. I still haven't seen anything though. Maybe the news will start talking about the game or something. Up to now, all I've seen are flyers around the UCO campus and the indoor soccer arena.
Brad Lund told me that a "major marketing campaign" was starting March 8th which would indicate to me TV and radio ads. My fianceé told me today that she heard a radio spot for the game on KJ103 which is good to know. It's finally getting out there. I hope to see some TV ads soon though.
No porn and no pot, IT'S LENT FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! Other than that, all are welcome... the pad is small and humble, but has a big backyard and is close to the firestation....
Yes, and your point is???? (smiley inserted for the ecumenical humor impaired) I love being Catholic. They'll take anybody. I proved that.
Methodists, Episopalians, Lutherans (I think) also give stuff up. But at any rate, beer is defintley not off limits. Fransiscan monks in Germany used to brew what is now Fransiskaner beer and have nothing to eat or drink except that, their only source of nourishment.
