Harkes - he's available and fits the former player mold. Plus he would ignite the locker room.

I was about to start this thread myself, although I really have no clue. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone new brought in (hey, my optimism's running high right now).

As an aside, if a new coach cans Greg's staff, what happens to Danny? I know his mom just bought a house here, but weren't they really close and wasn't Robert credited with much of Danny's happiness here?

hmm. really, i hadnt thought of that, but i would hope that warzyhca goes with andrulis right out the door.

szetela has had time to settle here, and thats where i think robert really helped; when he first got here.

as for coaches coming in... god forbid we get rongen, or dir, which i assume we would if we go with the ever popular MLS coach merry-go-round.

but, with the exception of possibley timo, i dont think we have ever had a manager who had previous professional managing experience.

I'll bet nickels to nuts Warzycha is named interim head coach. This firing was to stop the bleeeding and Bob's the bandage.

It'll be a while until we get proper medical treatment for the team.

Tell me there's not even the remote possibility that Burgess is coming in as caretaker.

I hadn't even thought of that. I would doubt it though. My bet is that Warzycha is named interim and then made permanent after the season.

I'll go with Robert interim and a full search after the season. That answer combines my surging optimism with reality, I think.

What if (i absolutely shudder to think these)...

What if the Crew announce that Greg Andrulis has been fired and will be relieved of his duties AFTER THE SEASON IS OVER???

What if the Crew, in an unprecedented move, name Greg Andrulis as caretaker (interim) manager until the end of the season???

i just pray to god that it isnt robert warzycha.

wed be better off if fraser were player/interim manager than robert, i feel. plus, that keeps us away from the danger of having happen to warzycha what happened to andrulis and fitz...

I would like to see this, but what are the odds of taking a coach from another team mid-season? Has that happened before?

Johnston would be fine with me. Murphy would be fine. I'd even take a chance on Harkes but I don't see it happening.

It's almost a certainty that Bob Rifle will take the reins on an interim basis. That way HSG doesn't have to take on another salary.

I really hope they don't give the position (even on an interim basis) to Burgess... if they are going to give the reins to a D3 College Coach, why not just keep Andrulis???

About damn time Denis got a look. I think the generation of ex-MLS players turned assistant coaches is about to start filling the head coaching ranks. Nowak is certainly the leading edge, but Hamlett, Johnston, Bliss, Vazquez... All these guys will be head coaches.
