Well said. Zidane is amazing. Becks probably thanks God that Zizou is on his club. France is the best in the world, hands down, IMHO.

"So who else here hope Zidane retires before World Cup qualifying?"

Half of me hopes he does, well the small area of my head that contains my brain certainly does anyway. There is no doubting his credibility as the world's best player and the England match just further demonstrated his ability to turn a game out of nowhere. Even the French have nobody to replace him should he retire and that could only aid our prospects of taking points from them in the World Cup qualifiers. The rest of me though, is really excited by the prospect of seeing him playing against my country in Paris & Dublin and I would feel somewhat cheated if he were to retire from the international set up just a couple of months before we go to Paris. Also can you imagine the atmosphere at Lansdowne Road in September 2005 when the French come to town, probably with both sides having all to play for, and Zidane walks out onto the hallowed (bumpy and possibly slightly overgrown) turf? It will be like that incredible day against the Dutch all over again.

Personally I feel he will retire after the Euro Championship. If they win it will be a fitting way for him to bring down the curtain on his international career and if the lose it will be hard for a senior player, with two championship medalsn already, to get himself up for another qualifying series after two successive disappointments. Additionally, he has already indicated that he intends to retire soon.
