I'll argue till I'm blue in the face that it;'s obvious most people screaming about Biden's age have never been around older folks. Or just bitter that Bernie and Warren lost the primary. The other thing is US media just loves Trump while Biden wasn't playing their games.

Biden's freaking biking in his 80s. He's shown being friendly at Waffle House after the debate and being funny. Trump meanwhile is going on rants about Hannibal Lecter and shower pressure. Not to mention that he should be having someone looking after him since the late 10s.

Of course, Jake Tapper can't let it go because reasons, and the rest of the media won't because a lot of them had Republican uncles.

I lost all respect for Jake Tapper the moment he felt the need to attack the Biden administration with as much "both sides" vigor acting if they were the same so he would not appear biased...THE WERE NOT THE SAME!

One of those mother fuckers tried to steal an election for fuck's sake.

I'd say less the uncles and more the owners. They don't tie the line they're out of the job. With so few companies owning so much media, getting black bagged at one can make it real hard to get a job elsewhere. And said owners are all fascists or libertarian...which is effectively the same thing.

Hang on... there's nothing in between being a bit unsteady on a bicycle, as Biden was, and needing a wheelchair??? :D

As someone who used to cycle a lot, the bike thing annoyed me, tbh. The people around Biden must be utterly inept and clueless to put him on a bike with pedal clips which are usually for providing extra power on the up swing which, if he were cycling competitively, would be useful.

But with someone who doesn't ride regularly, (which I'm guessing he doesn't any more), they're more likely to be forgotten and to hold your foot on the pedal just when you want it to be on the ground... which is what happened.

Even as an 18-year-old, I remember when I first started cycling competitively and started using clips. One of the first times I stopped at a light, all of the sudden there was panic as I couldn't get my foot to release and I toppled to the side in slow motion (or at least that's how it felt). I'm sure the cars around me at the light got a good chuckle. If one of them didn't yell "Tiiiiiiimber" they missed a good opportunity.

That has happened to literally EVERYONE that had cycling clips a few times, particularly when they weren't used to them. TBH I had mine very loose so I could take my foot out in a hurry if I needed to.

What they thought they were doing putting him in them is anyone's guess although, tbf, maybe it was his idea? Who knows.

I’ve heard lots of discussions about this. Dems are upset at the party for the fiasco of losing to Trump. It doesn’t mean anything more or less than that. These people aren’t running into the embrace of the GOP.

Agree..This poll is truly meaningless in the big picture. Although the higher ups in the party should know the base is really pissed at them. I am a registered Dem and I would vote 100% to disapprove the party as a whole. By no means, I would ever vote for the GOP though (or sit the next election either).

I personally think it means more than that. And I think understanding why the party is so unpopular is important to understand why Trump won the votes of the people that he did. And some may not be running to the embrace of the GOP, but they may be sitting out completely.

    From the actual poll/survey

    GOP approval
    upload_2025-5-20_9-10-47.png

    DEM approval
    upload_2025-5-20_9-11-17.png

Further, back on March 25 is was a 64% disapprove v. a 36% approval for the Dems.

To me, that doesn't hold up in the poll. For example:
    upload_2025-5-20_9-22-5.png

Those who are Trumpist have a higher rating (Trump, Kennedy, Vance, Musk). But that is not across the board, as shown with Tabbard, Hegsenth, and Bondi. Further, AOC has a high net favorable rating than Mike Johnson, who is not a Trumpist. I would also ask why Schumer has a higher net unfavorable than AOC? That is about likely about the dissatisfaction with the job Schumer is doing, where as AOC gets attacked for being a woman and a person of color. This is about Trump being positive for the GOP/cult. Take Trump out of the picture, and both the Dems will do better, and the GOP will drop.

I think the higher ups think the bold, and don't understand the overall dissatisfaction the voters have for them.
