Nextel, 1996 for me. Well, Nextel was the company. I think I had a Motorola. It was one of those phones with the flip down speaker thingy.

Agreed. It's weird. I like raisins as a solo act. Don't like them in other things.

If you'd have told us that before, we wouldn't have wasted so much time on this 'democracy' nonsense.

Everything that is wrong with the party summarized with what is happening with David Hogg.

Dude critized the old guard and wants new blood to challenge incumbents.

So the old guard is fighting back by outwoking him with DEI rules to force him out.

Maybe that is the secret, we need the Chinese government money to keep left wing influencers on message.

You misstated. It was about young Democrats, not all young Americans (it's about the 2:15 mark). It is from The Harvard Youth Poll.

    https://iop.harvard.edu/youth-poll/50th-edition-spring-2025

76% of young Republicans say they are proud to be American (8% embarrassed and 16% neither)—more than three times the number of young Democrats who say the same (24% proud, 54% embarrassed, 21% neither).

One thing that did strike me was this:
    upload_2025-5-14_12-4-28.png

Not the bit about Congress approval (or dissatisfaction), but that only 31% of all those surveyed approve of Trump. That is pretty close to the bottom of his ceiling. Below 30% starts to be a cave-in.

I’m sure as soon as he starts glazing AOC or Shapiro or whomever Dems nominate, the bitching about him will magically stop.

Yeah, the question are you proud to be an American, (Brit, French or whatever), really depends which aspect of it they're talking about and when, doesn't it?

ATM I can well understand a lot of Americans looking at donny tiny hands and reflecting, 'THIS is the guy the majority of people wanted to run the country'? I'd imagine that's what they're answering. Not some vague, nebulous rubbish about 'the nation'.

China actually is engaging in plenty of hidden political discourse in America, but it's pro-China bots or trying to drown out anti-China talk. They are far more concerned with shaping their image and controlling Chinese abroad than trying to being down the West through distention, which is Russia and Iran's main social media goal. They have zero point zero desire to spread socialism and the spread of social freedom is poison to them, so they are never going to fund Western liberals for anything.

Not around here. Most of us around here have had a long dislike of Maher. If he says anything positive about AOC or Shapiro or any other Dem, it will be a moment and then it will pass.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker pours water over reports that Joe Biden was close to needing a wheel chair as President. His entire answer is a must read:“I saw him a few times. I certainly went to the White House whenever there was an opportunity for me to make the case for something for people in my state. And I never had the experience of anything other than a guy who brought to the table a lot of good ideas about how to solve problems.

Thanedar is just being performative here...I guess he is trying to hold a primary challenge.

“The House won’t vote on a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump today after Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) failed to call up his proposal this afternoon,” Punchbowl News reports.

“This is a victory for House Democratic leaders, who had pressured Thanedar not to show up and request a vote on his resolution. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and his leadership team had already signaled they would vote to table the resolution if it came to that.”

The first reply I saw there said that Joe Biden rode a bike and compared that to someone who is, at worst, morbidly obese, gets no exercise, falls asleep during meetings, etc.

I'm not sure MAGA should be criticizing the health of others. Is Joe Biden perfect? No...but they should look at who they support and I'm not talking about the images of him riding on the back of tanks, all dressed up like Rambo.

    This...is strange.

This whole thing is truly ridiculous and again the MSM is failing us....The conman in chief is on a grift tour in the Middle East and CNN is debating id Biden needed a wheelchair....This is truly infuriating.

I'm confused by what you are saying. You have said you want the Dems to be out there doing something, and speaking out, and such. But when they do, and you don't approve, it is performative? So what if we all know it is not going to pass. He is doing something, and not bringing it forward is capitulating to the Republicans.
