There’s a difference between being educated and being college educated. Neither one of these means you are smart or not.

If your pussy-grabbing, disabled-mocking, debt-dodging, daughter-lusting opponent can get 74 million votes, what's next is assimilation into conservatism, or irrelevance in standing kinda firm. There is no strategy for playing a big role an America that now wants what Trump represents.

I do feel that just having "working man policies' isn't going to make any difference seeing voters already broadly favour dem policies but then vote for people offering the policies they don't like (because those people are liars)

Dem national candidates probably need to be better vessels in terms of an overall package.

It seems fairly clear the electorate is rejecting conventional politicians

Glad someone with a much louder voice than me is saying....What a bunch of malarkey..

Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) told Politico that Sen. Bernie Sanders’ argument that Democrats lost the election because they abandoned the working class is an “absolute crock.”

Said Huffman: “Joe Biden and Democrats did more for the working class in the last four years than we’ve seen in a long, long time. And Bernie Sanders — Mr. Working Class — underperformed Kamala Harris in his own state.”

Aging Jerry Nadler stepped aside from his role on the judiciary committee. Good.

DEMS spending too much time soul searching. Instead it was the fallout of Covid that impacted the rise of prices world wide, whoever was in power couldn’t stop it—-if only the REPs were in the White House between 20-24, than the DEMS would of won this election by landslide

The whole "Democrat abandoned the working class" is just delusional.

The Republicans did not stand for the working class. They basically got a demagogue with not even an ounce of shame who bullshitted the working class.
If the Democrats were to imitate this approach, they would cease to be a serious party, just like the Republicans did. But maybe that is the way to go, having in mind that at least half of the American voters are deeply unserious as well.

It's a cult. When the cult leader dies, more often than not the cult fades away.

In my opinion, if Republicans had run with someone else, they would have lost.

They have abandoned them, that's true. It doesn't mean the GOP are suddenly the working man's party. They obviously aren't. In a bimodal system like ours though, when the Dems fail you, where else is there to go? It leaves them open for the brainwashing we've seen.

I am assuming abandon them because we are not working class causes all day every day so the RWM and MSM says we have abandoned them despite policies which are boring to explain and take a while to feel the effects.

Just saw this on a Bluesky post…. Between Ro Khanna trying hard to attract Leon attention and Clyburn asking Biden to pardon Trump, the democrats are truly off a great start. What a bunch of feckless and spineless twats….

The DNC needs new leadership. We need to take a moment and drop the people at the top. We need the doorknockers and the office manager views. Those are the people that are important right now. I said it before but the people who made their minds up to vote late and said yeah I need to make more money so let's vote for the guy that I was making more money is there guy were the difference makers. We need to breakthrough to those people

Sigh. I have a handle. I never claimed that the FBI pulled of the insurrection. I said that the involvement of the FBI needs to be explored while saying that Trump's involvement was also not excusable. In sum, I am skeptical of both parties. The capacity of this thread's posters to alienate independents is bottomless. I highly recommend that none of you volunteer for the Democrats to talk to undecided voters in 2028.

But it was Trump's FBI. He was telling his security people to avoid metal detectors. Like, you cannot connect what the FBI would gain from being part of that and instigating that to a BLM movement. Connect the dots for me? Where are the similar motives and desired results? And please be detailed.

exactly. this is mostly GOP propaganda which is applied entirely in one direction. eg where is this standard when applied to Trumps already stated intentions to slash entitlements?

Democrats --> always on the side of the unions (sometimes in the background), pouring billions of feds money into infrastructure, semiconductor and green energy/EV manufacturing, creating a lot of jobs (ever wonder why unemployment stay <= 4% even when the central bank was raising interest rate at the fastest pace in history?)

Working class --> apparently prefer attacking job-stealing foreign countries with tariffs (who cares how tariffs work), restricting immigration to as low as possible, and want lower grocery price

The democrats were simply not offering what the working class want
