What's next? Clinton endorsing Cuomo. Good thing the yoots don't really remember Bill so not sure how much weight this has. Bloomberg also endorsed Cuomo. Mamdani is scaring the Establishment wankers.

    A saw a funny tweet.

Some women accusing New York men for excusing sexual harassment and supporting Coumo.

But according to polling Coumo does better with female voters than male voters.

As usual, the Establishment will pour whatever resources needed to stop the party from moving an inch left but against fascists? Sigh....

    Don't let us down, NYC.

    If my maths are right:
The 90s are midway between the 60s and today.

Today's college students were born during the second GWB term. They were between diapers and first grade when Sarah Palin was seeing Russia from her house.

How should I feel for knowing that people who graduated HS in the early 2000s are now grandparents while my first grandparent to die did so before I was 10 and my last died during my senior year of HS after being older than sin and struggling to hang on? Three of them were dead by the time I finished 8th grade.

People who have kids senior year of HS and are grandparents by the time they're 40: "Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied to think if they could, they didn't stop to think if they *should*."

One of the biggest problems with things is that people have kids without getting college diplomas and solid careers (note word "career" vs "job") then they can't get that good education, get stuck in the rut of having to provide for the kid and then complain the system is against them.

I remember getting my HS handbook of "everything students need to know and do" and seeing a page in there about student pregnancies. Eighth-grade me thought it was crap that there was no way it was possible, etc etc.

Moral: Listen to your elders because, yup, HS pregnancies are real. Kids do have to drop out to provide for their kids.

And oh what a 2nd term it was!

    2920390.jpg

The box with the moneybag was particularly hilarious because that was one poster's constant refrain from that era. "Yeah, the banks took ridiculous gambles & Bushco didn't want the good times to end so they ignored all the warning signals. Sure they caused all this horrific shit and ruined millions of lives. But they eventually paid us back, right?"

What sparked this? I had to check if there was an ignored poster involved. This post seems about 30 years out of date. The average age that parents have been having their first kids has been rising across all American socio economic sectors for years. And while my first grandparent died when I was 19, my last one died when I was 50.

Try the Privatize Gains, Socialize Losses downwards mobility slide at Six Flags Great Adventure! Watch out for the rolling boulder of debt, long term unemployment and vanishing retirement dreams. To make make it extra challenging, there's little to no social safety net to catch you. Because we don't tax corps & the 1% properly.

    Bill Clinton working his magic.

"ZOHRAN MAMDANI SURGES IN NYC MAYORAL RACE, NOW FAVORED TO WIN DEM PRIMARY"

I guess the betting market is not a fan of Bill.

    C'mon, you commielibislamofascist!

The commercials I've seen have Mamdani in traditional garb standing in front of a building. Only thing Cuomoites didn't do was superimpose a 747 flying into it.

It is quite sad that the two “worst” candidates in Mamdani and Cuomo are in the lead. I’d feel better if one of the dems polling around 2% were in the lead, and maybe Mamdani as the Lt. Gov. option.

I’d rather have Mamdani than Cuomo though, just because he seems like a non-corrupt person genuinely interested in trying to make lives better, even if likely nothing comes of his ideas.

Yeah, but would AOC dancing at the Puerto Rican Day parade asking you to rank Zohran & not rank Cuomo change your mind? o_O

BTW the Chicago Tribune with a warning to New Yorkers.

"If New Yorkers are frustrated with Mayor Eric Adams, they should be careful not to trade him for someone who makes governance even harder. Trust us – we’ve been there.'

That is a great question. At this moment, no.

Jon Huntsman is Mormon-ish, was quite inactive when he was governor and ambassador to China, and even less active now.

The state is projected to grow 50% in the next 20-30 years. It is likely that much of that growth won’t be Mormon. However, it will be really tough for a non-Mormon to win the GOP nomination.

I guess the main hope would be that the kids who have grown up with Trump as their President stop slavishly voting GOP, and that newcomers are more liberal.
