Ok, it has been a couple of days. I know everyone was as upset and dissapointed after Saturdays loss as me. So I am just curious, what changes to the lineup-play style-etc. would everyone like to see? With some time to think about it, I have realized it is nice that this year we EXPECT to win, and it is realistic. So a loss hurts that much more. I know, talking about what Vermes/The team should do on a message board will not change anything, but I respect all of your opinions and knowledge and hope a discussion will help me see things that maybe I am missing.

The one thing that stands out to me is that while the team is beat up and tired, we do have the depth to be competitive in every game. So, for me, who plays is not that big of a sticking point. I wasnt a big fan of Coach's subs Saturday, but figure he may know things we dont (CJ carrying a knock???). What I would like to see is more patience/control of the ball . It seems like we are playing more direct toward goal, and throwing in a lot of crosses with only one or two men in the box. Personally, I would like to see us forego some of those crosses and play the ball back to wait for more folks to get into the box. That , if memory serves, is what we did differently at the begining of the season. We had more controlled possession and patience, and the results showed it. I know we are missing some of our key players that made that happen (ie Roger), but think coach needs to be harping on the 2nd stringers to play less driect and be more patient.

So, what are you internet message board philosiphers seeing? ;)

If Teal puts that sitter away, and Zusi doesn't make that boneheaded pass, we win 2-1.

So I'd like to see our players pull their heads out of their nether regions and start playing well again.

That would work. I hope that we are just in a slump and we return to form that were in during the first part of the season. However, we need to get back into form by next Wednesday and that is my worry right now. I am really, really nervous about the USOC Final. I just dont have faith that we can win that game right now. I hope more than anything or boys prove me wrong.

    +1,000

I am also concerned about their nerves/confidence. I would hope the "overconfidence" issue went away with the 2011 Eastern Conference Final, especially with how they have been playing lately. They might be feeling a bit overwhelmed with Seattle coming in as defending champs, plus our luck with Seattle in recent years. I would feel somewhat better if Roger is back in time (GO BRAZIL!!).

While I can't say that I wasn't watching the results with a tinge of hope that Honduras would go out, I can't actively root against him. If they can get by Brazil then they have a good chance at a medal, and that's too awesome of an achievement to want to deny Roger the honor.

Sure, I'd love to see him vs. Seattle, but if he's not there then I'm not going to give up hope. We have more than a capable enough squad to beat Seattle in a cup final at home.

Honestly, it's Myers & Peterson that I'd like back more.

I think we should let Teal go while his value is what it is. We need a pure finisher. Ruud van Nistelrooy just retired, maybe we can coax him over here with our beautiful summer weather.
