yes. i read a rush to judgement which was about the warren commisions report on the kennedy assassination. i enjoyed mark lane's style of journalism and seeing as i've always been interested in JFK and his murder then i decided to get this after reading both crossfire the plot that killed kennedy and on the trail of the assassins. i've only just started this but as the title suggests this is more focused on whether or how much, the CIA had to do with either the death of the president or the subsequent cover up afterwards. the title means that the higher up the chain of command the more deniability they have purporting to any events that have taken place.
Oh my! Who would believe there is such a thing as a MODEST poster on these boards! You may be unique!
I just finished "In at the Death" by Harry Turtledove on my train commute this morning. It's a end of a series that covers a different time line if the South had won the Civil War. I found the series very good and enjoyed it.
Working my way through a new mystery/detective series by Kris Nelscott (pseudonym for some S/F writer), with PI Smokey Dalton. Pretty entertaining look at the late sixties from the assassination of MLK the starting point. Haven't read the first couple (A Dangerous Road and Smoke Filled Rooms) but have finished Thin Walls, Stone Cribs, War at Home and Days of Rage. Another mystery/detective series I've enjoyed lately is from Reggie Nadelson, whose 'hero' is Russian immigrant Artie Cohen: Red Mercury Blues, Hot Poppies, Bloody London, Sex Dolls, and others.
Picked this up on Friday to consider for a course I'm teaching next fall on American Literature of the 50s and 60s. Started it last night, read a bit more this morning. Then I turned on my radio and heard the news...
