There was a guy in college who kept dressing up like a woman for Halloween. Now she's living her best life as a trans woman.
Considering the GOP wants to pass laws that make being trans in public a crime, I'm willing to call foul on it.
meh, there's enough bona fide weirdness with this guy. I'm not inclined to accept everything I'm spoon fed.
It may as well be a Halloween party but let's have him explain that himself. I am not giving him a blank check either.
Yeah, you still choose the costume. It's still says something about your personality, about some part of you that you want to display, at least for one day. Prince Harry wore a Nazi costume to a dress-up party and deservedly got a lot of bad press for it. My dividing line is: dress for a play or skit, no hypocrisy; any thing else yes.
Years ago some male faculty at my college were doing a 5k fun run and decided to do it in dresses. I was invited to join in the "fun". I flat out refused. I told them that straight males doing a fun run in a dress would get laughs and some applause. A guy gay doing so would end up being stereotyped and ridiculed. Those pics of Vance are not him doing drag, they are of him pretending to be a woman (and doing a poor job of it). Drag is not simply transvestism, which is what dressing as a woman would be. Drag is a form of performative art.
Not a David French guy? Did you ever read the American Conservative? They have descended to depths unknown.
What happened there is an example of what actually should be called "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The attempt to conform to the demands of Trumpism has seriously damaged the thinking of pretty much everyone still writing for them.
That song came out when I was in HS. In German class, for a project, one guy translated that song and (tried) to sing it. It was hilarious.
JD Vance…. The gift that will not stop giving … NEW VANCE AUDIO: In an interview from 2020, JD Vance agrees with a podcast host who says having grandmothers help raise children is “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female.”He also agrees when the host says grandparents helping raise children is a "weird, unadvertised… pic.twitter.com/W4KwHfZyw2— Heartland Signal (@HeartlandSignal) August 14, 2024
OK, think this through with me. First, the last paragraph of this article: That last line has me thinking two possible motivations, given the whole JD Vance ********s a couch thing that is in popular culture right now: 1) It's just an innocent use of a common expression. 2) It's a deliberate attempt at slamming Kamala Harris as nothing but a ********-toy for the likes of JD Vance (remember, his wife is South Asian too). Keep in mind the misogynistic demographic that Vance appeals to. I can't help but feel Steven Cheung was going for the latter, not the former, given they know any reference to a couch by that campaign would only make people think of JD.
This. It's also why Vance isthe one attacking her. The idea is that they send out a VP candidate to oppose the n***er- she's not worth having the actual POTUS candidate mention her. Kind of how the US can sometimes act with other heads of state- depending on skin color or other issues, the meeting might not be with the actual POTUS. It's time for Walz to forget Vance and start referring to Trump as "that boy" the way conservatives did Obama behind closed doors, except Walz needs to do it publicly
Didn't need to read beyond what you quoted to know that it is misogynistic, and intended to say that Harris is a slut.
Didn't need to read beyond what you quoted to know that it is misogynistic, and intended to say that Harris is a slut.
What would that make Trump?
Is there any more punchable face out there than that Steven Cheung dude, despite the intense competition from some in the maga/GOP?
