I'm sure you remember what happened to Arsenal after we botched their unbeaten run, we had a chance to do to the same thing last year against Chelsea in the Carling Cup semifinals. I truly feel that when we lost the second leg, that was when Chelsea won the league. That was our chance to put that fear and self-doubt in them and we could have used the momentum to make a run in the league of our own... alas, it didn't happen.

I think Ferguson is hoping for something similar to happen to Chelsea should Arsenal nick out a win. I think Arsenal have some problems that need to be addressed in their squad that should keep them out of the title race anyways, although they should easily come fourth, if not higher.

How about Pires dives in the box.....Only to fake the penalty and pass it to Reyes for the goal..... Love to hear Jose's quotes after that happening...

Chelsea could hardly be demoralized by Pires diving. It's only demoralizing when something happens that you don't expect. I'm sure Chelsea's gameplan will be to kick Reyes sometime during the first few minutes to take him out of the game. If Reyes comes back from that and scores, devastation.

    best scenario???

Henry, because he hurt his leg just a bit is not taking corners and gets on the end of a Pires corner to head it in over Terry... that would be magic.

    Nah...best scenario:

Arsenal 1-0 up in the 82nd minute after the ball hits Ljungberg's knees and rolls in to the back of the net. In the 90th minute, Drogba gets annoyed with Freddie, punches him and a huge brawl ensues. Both teams are docked points, and players invovled in the brawl are banned for several games. :p
But Chelsea still manage to beat Citeh with their reserves side.

Ok, I'm glad you have me laughing now, cause I have to say something really unpleasant. I just looked at the table, and I was thinking about this spring, and so . . . *Sigh* . . .

    Go arsenal.

Isnt it just the luck that Chelsea gets, teams, all teams hit the post when they play Chelsea

This is an early report of the second Chelsea goal, in living memory when did Lauren slip up against ManUtd

"Lauren slips up midway inside the Arsenal half and Joe Cole manages to nick the ball off him. He runs at Sol Campbell before hitting a left-foot shot from the edge of the box that goes in off the inside of the post." hey if chelsea beat ManUtd and had beaten Arsenal with clean class goals today I would hold my hand up and give them dues but, every week they get the luck of the nine blind.

No kidding - me too... Refs helped them out with that no-goal call - oh well. Back to trying to close the gap :)

I've got to say I feel somewhat smug now. I mean after all the rubbish early this season about us being streets behind Chelsea and Arsenal, how we'd be fighting for 3rd and we were not good enough. Despite all the injury problems we've had and despite losing Keane.

We've got some work to do obviously, but I still think we can pull off something good.

No surprise, unfortunately. I expected Arsenal to finish outside of top 3 when the year started, and they are clearly non-contenders this season.

Dark Savante, what made you think that Arsenal would top the league in scoring before the season started? So far even West Ham scored more goals than they did.
