Got my two seats! Just Curious: Any huge logistical issues I should be aware of? (Like 'ride your bike, parking sucks' and such...)
Bumptious Rex said this in another forum: "All directions we found led everyone to exit at Avalon from the 405. We sat on Avalon and then University for 1 hour (11:50-12:50). A much better route in will be to take the Wilmington exit, go inland, and turn left onto University. No traffic, and then an easy right turn into the parking lot. "
I was thinking today whether or not we'll see spikes in attendance from obviously higher group sales activity, like last year (the season finale w/San Jose, especially). Last Saturday obviously didn't need that kind of push, but it will be interesting to see if they will still employ that strategy or just rely more on the ticket scarcity factor. The scarcity issue also begs the question as to whether or not there were many people turned away at the box office on Saturday, or if people got the hint from the sold out signs along Avalon Blvd.
There's plenty of parking. It ain't cheap, but it's convenient. Pick a local, alternate route, as the tourists and newbies will all be on Avalon.
I don't know if this has any substance in real fact as it came in an e-mail from the Galaxy sales office: "The Galaxy has another game on June 14th, 7:00 PM at the Home Depot Center. The 1st night game in the stadium. This message is to let all soccer fans know that there are a few unsold tickets remaining. The word about the stadium is spreading quickly. Get your tickets NOW, tomorrow may be too late. Contact me for tickets or more info."
I think it is hype but I sure hope it does well. It really looks like hype when I do a check at Ticketmaster.
well i am sure you guys will keep us posted as the week progresses. i think everyone is rooting for you guys to have good crowds for the remainder of the season... but i could care less if you win.
Here is a little history from the Crew who also opened a new stadium late and had a group of homes bunched in a short period of time in 1999. These are the first 8 games played in Crew stadium in chronological order 24,741 (Home Opener for CCS) 20,782 16,596 17,386 18,632 15,397 19,356 13,891 Andy
this doesn't look good. you can get a block of 20 tickets in section 132 through ticketmaster. thats dead center. i hope there is some serious walk up.
They sent out an email a couple of days ago that if you print, lets you get a discount on sideline seats. Looks like they are having trouble with the pricy seats, as many of us suspected they would. This is one area where every seat in the house being good isn't going to help them. A family can get fantasic seats in the upper deck in the middle for a lot less, for example.
If anybody is interested I have one ticket on the upper deck sec 231. I won't be able to make it tonight. I live in OC. I will also give you my parking pass. I can't make it, due to a family function. Damnn double damn!! well just email me to get a hold of me.
