I'd heard rumors of this before and I couldn't find a thread on it so I figured I'd make one:

    From Tino Palace's "Clean Sheet":

I say this is a good move.

I'm glad to here that they added JP as well. He has turned out to be a good replacement for Mike Hill on CL broadcasts. He's one of the few american broadcasters who does the commentary about right.

And it is about time Tommy gets the call. Maybe ESPN is starting to listen to us.

I believe there is a shakeup because of Jack going to College Sports Television.

And now with the WWC seemingly ready to come to four sites in the USA, ESPN needs four broadcast teams rather than having one in China and two more in Bristol with cups of coffee in front of monitors.

I think this is an attempt to give Smyth more game action before WWC instead of just having him do taped pieces for MLS halftime.

If the USA gets WWC03, ESPN will use:

    Stone-Akers
    JP-Wendy
    Mowins-Overbeck (remember: Anson's coaching)
    Davis-Smyth

Who told you that? It certainly sounds pretty good. But I'd rather have JP be on the top team, or at least calling the ABC games.

It's an educated guess, given the four sites. I'd also say that Shannon MacMillan will be in the studio with Chris McKendry or Robin Roberts. I'd also like to get Shannon Higgins-Cirovski when she's not coaching Maryland.

Oh, and there's also Tisha Venturini. She's pretty telegenic, yes?

I was wrong to think Ty would have been any different in person

If you've ever had the chance to meet Ty you will come away more confused with him than before with all his strange and wrong quotes he's said to us fans over the years.
In short, I told him I was from Texas and how important the USA-Mexico match was to both sets of fans down here. I told him to be more pro-USA when calling that match as Telemundo are pro-el Tri even though Cantor is 'neutral'. He responded with...watch what you say...my mom's Mexican. I told him congrats and that my mom isn't Mexican. It did seem odd to me that our National Team announcer and a man that fancies himself as an Olympic Team hero would be indifferent when it came to his nation's biggest rival.
But then it really stood out to me when he's proud to announce during the run of play of the Yanks-el Tri match that his mom is Mexican, and that he rides the fence on this match.
Good for you partner. Now back to the small matter of our squad versus our arch-rival in front of a full house, and our lack of midfield possesion.
