For 18 years since I have been part of All Rocks we staggered the draft to make sure all things work well. Small first, then VSR and so on. This year we let the Leagues start on their own. It is 2pm in Australia.
Explanation: I work multiple jobs. I am a High Risk Licence trainer/teacher for TAFE NSW (a government Registered Training Organisation). I also run an entertainment business where I am a sole trader, performing DJ and MC operations. On top of this, I coach an U16's Development Squad in the local Football (soccer) competition. To fill out my week I go back to my trade (Mechanical Fitter and Machinist) to work for a labour hire company. Thursday and Friday are big days for me. This week: Thursday (yesterday) - up at 6am, teach Forklift Licence from 8am to 4:30pm, 5pm bump-in for my weekly residency at the Illawarra Hotel, 6pm -7:30pm U16's training session, 8pm dinner/shower , 9pm on the DJ decks til midnight. Friday (today) - after 4.5 hours sleep- up at 5:30am, travel 2 hours to Naval base to train Australian Navy Officers in White Card (New South Wales Construction Induction Course) for 8 hours then travel 2 hours back home. Thursdays can be even longer as I normally do 6 hours on the deck rather than the 3 hours last night. And once a month you can add a Flight home from Melbourne to start the day. And then Friday morning I sleep. Tomorrow my U16's play at 9:10am and I play Over 45's at 1pm. Sunday - U16's play at 1pm. Next week I have no work planned other than my DJ job on Thursday night. I have plenty to do at home as well as recovering from a small medical procedure, but I'll be around my PC. Plenty of opportunity to post picks. Is there anything else you'd like to know? I'm all ears! To be honest, the timezones have always been a difficulty with us Aussies in the comps, but manageable (we always get it done). I have never had this type of issue or ridicule until I reached this top level for the past 3 years. I'm a little sick of it. If you guys want me gone, I'll go. Simple. And you can bring your mate in. I know that some of the elder statesmen in this group live for this. I on the other hand, enjoy it very much but it's not the quintessential element in my life. Let me know your thoughts. That doesn't seem to be an issue for some of you.
and you do a pretty damn good job here in All Rocks. Probably a bit too much waiting by the phone for some of us going on here too. Apologies. Like last year we will hit our rhythm, and it may just take a bit longer to get through this draft but it will be worth it.
You know what............ ******** it.... I'm out. It's been good up to this point. But I just don't need the carryings on that go on here. It's only a few people, but I don't need this in my life. The lower leagues were much more fun.
How long will it take to confirm Dizzy is willing to sub and then when will he make his first pick, Round 5 as he is up now.
This is the biggest joke in all rocks history . As you may know , Keyser is a good mate of mine (he was best man at my wedding ) and for you guys to clap on about this time zone thing is disgraceful . Every year it is a few people who carry on like babies cause they are awake, but god help it others may actually be asleep. Get the ********ing world clocks on your phone for god sake. Have a good look at yourselves .. people have lives etc and not everyone can tell the world when they have to pee, stop and get gas etc … ffs , enjoy the draft , .. when it is you turn make your pick when you can , when it is not …. Maybe shut the ******** up and let people pick when they can . The sad part is this you guys have been part of this for so many years and should know better. Oh shock horror there is a part of the world that has a different time zone …. Wake up ffs !!!! I have just had a great mate , who loves his EPL go through this shit to a point where he left . He'll need a little bit to get up to speed but Dizzy should be able to make a pick within an hour (or so) IF this is a final decision and what we are going to do. But I'm not wild about how this has gone down. That said, I understand @tjh71 is not going to reconsider. Indeed, quite a mess in a lot of different ways.
I guess it's being a bully to make multiple polite requests for how best to contact someone and to ask people to share their availability so everyone has similar expectations of about when to expect someone's next pick, and, together, we can develop solutions as to how to deal with the challenges of having wide differences in time zones during the draft. I'm sorry your mate Tony withdrew, but I blame lack of communications by him as causing the frustration. Moving on, I propose to allow the substitute manager, Dizzy, is it, to be allowed to retake Tony's round 4 pick of Cunha as I don't think that choice impacted any of the other managers' draft plans. That way, after Dizzy analyses the first 3 picks and plans his draft, he can make a Round 4 and a Round 5 pick. Then the draft will continue. Dizzy, when you get situated, send me a PM, (hal) with your contact info and how best you would like to be contacted when its your turn to pick. BTW, what timezone will you be drafting from?

FYI .. in our league I pick at 8am my time , and the guy after me picks at 7-8pm my time . Yet I am ok with that and do not push the envelope at all .
I don't know Dizzy, His name was mentioned by blech as being a willing sub and available. I agree he wins the All Rocks lottery by being able to start in Small Rocks. Not ideal, but with the other drafts well underway, I'm not sure there is any other way to replace keysersoze in a normal manner. I would actually prefer for Keysersoze to immediately reconsider and re-engage, and help figure out a solution to this woefully slow draft, but his resignation post did not look negotiable. And once someone reaches out to a replacement, I think it will be too late to revert back. For the record, as one of the founding members who has played in these drafted leagues for about 20 years, I don't think I've ever heard of the 24 hour rule. We've always been able to resolve and diffuse situations so that no one resigns. I've stepped away from trying to run these leagues. Tarvinidos seems to have taken that on, so I'll defer to his judgement.
Do what you need to do fellas … you can’t wait a bit longer for a tried and true member , but dizzy is rolled out the red carpet , …. I get your frustration as well as your support of Keysersoze. But let's not take it out on Dizzy, who has done nothing other than express interest in participating. Also, my understanding is that Keysersoze isn't going to reconsider. Separate from what's posted here, I've communicated with him privately and he was pretty clear about that. So, unless you've got other info DrH, we do need to move forward. And, while I don't agree with all that Hal has said (today and previously), I do think it makes sense to fill the spot with an available manager who gets to draft his own team given that the other drafts are well under way (and even close to done in VSR). Dizzy's got an appointment this morning and it's probably still at least another hour from now before he'll be be able to pick if you hear of any reconsideration from Keysersoze. Let me know asap.
I think taking it out in dizzy was the least of my beefs, but interpret as you will . Dizzy , whoever you are , please do not take this as an attack on you personally .. Enjoy your time in the league , and make sure you make this draft your priority in your life … cause for god sakes it will need to be.. I hope that appointment does not drag on too long ….

Yes it is 2.30am and me and Tony have discussed a lot this evening . I am off to bed and so is he … he loves his EPL and I hope you guys can calm down amd maybe he will reconsider and jump back in ?
