Without the free hit option, we're extremely limited in what we can due, and it (probably) isn't worth destroying your team with a wild card just for a single week. Teams that are healthy and balanced may be able to use subs to squeak out a few additional teams, but it does make sense to just play the long game (and continue to hope that @tarvinodos will some day make a mistake......
