A few weeks old, but I had not seen this nor seen it posted on here, so for what it may be worth: http://suburbanjournals.stltoday.com/articles/2009/01/21/madison/news/0121cvj-cooper.txt Some bad fact-checking by the author, who appears confused about the league's concerns being about the stadium financing (not a concern) rather than the ownership group (stated concern). On the bright side, Sport Billy gets quoted, and as I recall, when Bryan76 started needing a press agent is when Philly's bid really took off.
"The bid is up against at least six other cities vying for the new team, including Atlanta, Miami, Montreal and Ottawa." I just found it kind of funny and ironic that the cities it doesn't name are Portland and Vancouver, who are probably going to win. If only MLS would forget about them too.
