From Soccernet's WWC notebook: World Cup Slumber Party A 24-hour World Cup slumber party and four-on-four soccer tournament will be held Sept. 27-28 at Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., the site of the Women's World Cup final. Lorrie Fair, a member of the 1999 U.S. team that won the title and a player for the Philadelphia Charge of the WUSA will act as host. The event will feature soccer competition for all skill levels, plus world-class player appearances and promotional competitions. Along with round-the-clock soccer, children and families can take part in a chaperoned slumber party with movies and food. "We are very excited to be able to present this first of its kind, wonderful family entertainment opportunity for our sponsors and the greater Los Angeles community,'' said FIFA deputy general secretary Jerome Champagne. Other U.S. women scheduled to appear are Ronnie Fair, Jena Kluegel, Jacqui Little and Hope Solo, plus U.S. men Chris Klein, Josh Wolff, Sasha Victorine, Danny Califf and Simon Elliott.
