Just got back from a weekend of US Soccer in Seattle, enjoyed myself despite Japan not being there and approx 17,000 people not showing up because Japan wasn't there. Our crew of 8 started out Friday night by stalking the USMNT by visiting Adidas store, the clerk informing us that a bunch of the guys had already stopped by earlier in the day. So, we left for NikeTown...on the way there 6 of us dropped back, as I dropped an old wallet on the sidewalk with a package of fish crackers and nothing else in it...just to see what would happen (it stayed there 1 whole minute!), while Bandeirante and Guinness Gulper went on ahead. They noticed a small guy in USA training gear and (thinking he was Boca) proceeded to scare him to death by chasing after him, he ducked down a side street and blended in....we later caught up to him at NikeTown where he told us his name was 'Ricky' and he was a couch, he also was speaking with a Brit accent....nevermind he LOOKS like Boca and didn't totally convice us he was from across the pond. What's he afraid of? We are just harmless fans, aren't we? Bumped into Tim Howard there also with his girlfriend or sister, we couldn't tell which. Moving along, we stood around the Sheraton for a little while until Bandeirante and myself walked in and ran into Chris Klein around the corner who we called McKeon by accident...oops. Next day at the game, what was going on with security??!! Granted, we started early throwing streamers (I think it was at 0:05 when I threw mine, which hit #734...by accident) The security needs to let the minor streamer throwing and other harmless things go...if they had, no beer bottles would have been thrown. It'll be interesting at Man U - Celtic to see what happens. If they handle that game the same way...it may turn ugly. Great venue for soccer, hope to get some WC qualifiers next. Mav
i am spent. no more fun for me for a while. If i forgot to tell any of you, thanks for coming and joining us. it was good to see those we met at the hondo match and it was a blast to hang with some new faces (to us anyway) the fire girls and atouk and galaxy fan as well as many others. hope you all have safe travels home. maybe i will catch up with some of you in houston and or san jose. i must now go and pass out on my bed as i have left it all on the pitch
If the game had been in Venezuela, there had being the stadium at the top of thousand of people cheering and singing their team, no matter if Venezuela had being playing again Mr Who. That´s the big difference of passion.
Re: Re: Sleepless in Seattle (USA-Venezuela) You should have just wrote that whole thing in spanish so that we could've understood it a little better.
