First of all, the cheerleaders hate me. I can't tell you how many times I've been neg repped because I dared to say that Bobby Convey wasn't Barcelona material, or whatever.

Second of all, I'm not really a USMNT fan. I wanted England. Neg reg me again, douchebags.

Third of all, I think USMNT will do very well in 2014.

    Reasons -

    1) The forward play will be INFINITELY better. Cheerleaders, remove your pom-poms and you lips from the big action. This was absolutely terrrible horrible godawful forward play. If you haven't figured that out by now, and you think Jozy was good and that brilliant goals scored by Uruguay and Ghana forwards today were like what Jozy does, please start to suck again.

Because USMNT was f&ing horrible. Altidore had a very good second half against Algeria and brief glimpses elsewhere, but basically he blew and if you think otherwise, start the fellatio again. And the other forwards ... OMG.

    2) The back line will be better.

    Need I say more?

    3) The keeper will be better.

Ditto. Love ya Tim, but that's the worst I've ever seen you play, never the same after the boot in the ribs.

    4) The midfield will be similar.

They were very good overall, LD + CD + Mikey + Edu. So was the 2002 midfield with JOB + Mathis + Reyna + Earnie + DMB. We do midfield just fine. We'll be good in 2014.

I expect quarters as a minimum.

Thanks for the nice words, but just wondering...

How can you expect quarters at minimum when you haven't seen the draw yet?

    If we're drawn with...

    Brasil
    Russia
    Ivory Coast

Will you still be expecting quarters? Come on now.

Again, thanks for the nice words, no neg reps for you.

Yes OK good point. I overstated for effect.

My argument is, 2002 was lovely. (I woke up at 3:30 on the day of an important business meeting, I adore USMNT when they don't annoy me, which was this before tournament, sorry for supporting England in the first match.)

    But ...

Donovan played as well as he could play, McBride played better than he could play, Tony Sanneh had the games of his life, DMB ditto, man everything jelled. But the USMNT played over their heads.

This time, I don't think so. Not at all. I truly think USMNT can be really good, with a healthy keeper, a forward who can do the business (could be Jozy, not this time though), and back line that is settled.

So what part of London are you from? Chicago? I've never heard of that neighborhood.
