I think it's a 7:30pm kickoff (2:30am here). I am not sure but I think we have to go back a long ways to find a 3 game winning streak, which is what's on the line. And 4 game unbeaten streaks are also pretty rare. The stat breakdown favors RBNY.. The standings also favor them. They're 15th in the SS standings, we've climbed to 29th. Anyway, last match before the World Cup break, during which I fully expect to be disappointed in our rebuild
I'm just coming back from a week in NYC. It's amazing how irrelevant the two MLS teams are there. It's a no one even knows they exist type of thing.
Capita’s speed is worth the price of a cheap seat to watch. Down two at H but it does not feel like anything has been decided.
We are not a good team, but that game didn't feel out of control/ We could have tied, even won. That we didn't is down to moments. they scored low xG shots, we didn't, even on slightly higher ones. It's not a disaster, just not very good, or quite average. Capita's speed is exciting. LBJ has looked better these last four games. Bassong wasn't as impressive, but he is a better destroyer than anyone on the roster. And we're a much more dyanmic side when Manu enters the game. Is there a reason not to play him as Jovelic's partner up top?
Exciting but frustrating game. Probably deserved a tie but I was entertained. Defensive back line is not up to MLS standards but hopefully that changes after the WC. Yes, Manu should start.
We looked like just a middling to bad MLS team last night instead of a historically bad one like we had for the month and a half prior. Mainly the defensive and press responsibilities that Calheira has in that 4-4-2. Garcia doesn't do that kind of work.
Meyer is a really really bad soccer player. He looks fat and out of shape. He has almost Fontas level athletic ability, but unlike Fontas, he also has terrible technical ability. Wiki has done an admirable job doing what he can to get thos roster to approximate a professional soccer team. But he needs a lot of roster help feom Lee if they are going to avoid the spoon.
Agreed on Meyer, but until this point, was there an option? horrible roster build. A lot is riding on Blorian being an above average MLS centerback. It's amazing what now can pass as good news.Maybe we aren't historically bad! Seeing as we don't really have an outside back worth a crap, maybe our top priority in this window is to find a solid, MLS top 20 level (at least) centerback in addition to Blorian, and with James move to a 3-5-2, which gives us a better way to start Manu. When you have a roster so obviously lacking talent and difference makers, seems odd not to find a way to get one on the field.
Obviously take with a grain of salt but Lee at a STM thing before the game yesterday said they're targeting 4-7 starting quality players this summer. Obviously that means he's either gonna be trading for a bunch of int spots, we're getting a lot of GCs, or he's gonna actually have to be successful in the domestic market.
