"The Earthquakes' squad of predominantly reserves did more than what was expected of them, using quick transitions to evenly play Club America, which looked slow and disorganized." Not a bad result for the bench players, and three cheers for Frank for sitting our stars in preparation for Saturday!
Can anyone explain how ON EARTH the kicker could be offside on a penalty kick? I mean, the rebound came off the post, so he was BEHIND THE BALL! Was this game ref'ed by Noel Kenny? P.S. I think most Quakes fans weren't at the game because (like me) they were pissed the Quakes were even playing this game.
that is a generous number, don't you think? and the America fans didn't sem to notice any of us, they were to busy heckling anyone with a Chivas jersey on.......
He wasn't offside. The ball bounced off of the post, and the shooter kicked it again into the net. This is a violation because the kicker of a PK is not allowed to touch the ball again until after another player touches the ball.
To be honest, this was one of the main reasons I didn't want to go to begin with. There were other reasons (like I was supposed to have class last night). But I was pissed they had to play this game. And in the city nontheless. But I'm so diehard about my team, I just had to go to support my guys!!! I'm glad I did. It was good to get to see Lucci, Chris, and Devin get some quality time. That could have been the only time those guys see time like that. And I'm glad I got to see it. I was really impressed with Chris. Devin didn't stink up the field as much as he has before. Lucci was good, but I don't think that was his best showing. But I'm glad I went to see the guys and had a chance to see the ones I don't normally get to see.
The author of that article took a swing and missed. I knew what had happened the moment he called it. Brian Hall reffed the game, and although very tight and controlled (he did a lot of talking to the players), he did a decent job.
