    Also on the front of Sports in today's Merc. "Landon Donovan's World Cup Performance" is one of the options. (Not that I'd necessarily rank it #1 over some of the other options, but it's still really cool to see him get this kind of recognition.)

    3 Baseball: Giants' Barry Bonds and Jeff Kent scuffle in dugout.
    4 Baseball: Giants make it to the World Series.
    5 Football: Jon Gruden leaves Raiders for job with Bucs.
