I'll admit this is late, but is anybody in the Casbah going up for this game? It'd be wonderful if you can get back to me today. I know somebody who lives in Chico and would like to hook up with you guys--maybe at The Bear before the game.

    Thoughts?

It only takes me three hours from Mountain View and that includes one rest stop. Just hop on (5) and go 80 miles an hour, no problem;)

All I want to know is, did we get out of there without injuries?

No word on injuries, but according to the Merc, the Quakes tied 1-1 and won the PK shootout 4-2. Brian Mullan scored for the Quakes in the 59th minute.

Anyone have a match report? Who'd we field for this one? What position did Kinnear play?

Wow, well at least Patrick Fisher, say, will be able to say that he played for the Earthquakes (of course hopefully Mr Fisher becomes a terrific player and we can all say that we knew it during that exhibition with the Rooks).

I had the same initial reaction when I saw penalties, then I thought, well its good to practice them in a quasi real-life situation, but I'm not sure how often Mr Fisher is going to be taking penalties for the Quakes.

That's a great name. I wouldn't even attempt to pronounce it.

Saunders has half a clean sheet again. Wish I had the opportunity to get a look at him between the pipes to evaluate him.

Must have felt good to Conway when, after he was called for moving early on one of the PKs (anyone recall the Open Cup game in SF?), he saved the do-over as well.
