According to Dish Network's online guide - the Earthquakes game will be live on the Shootout at 6:00PM PDT. James
UGH!!! I just made reservations around the corner from the Brit cuz I thought it wasn't gonna be on!! Are we sure it's gonna be on live? I may have to stop in for a quick drink so I can see my Quakies!
But DISH's guide is notoriously wrong. At least for me. So I'd like some confirmation from another source. Anyone?
It's showing up on the DirecTV schedule at 6 PM on channel 796 (one of the Shootout package channels), and 8 PM on channel 654 (Fox Sports Bay Area).
Here's confirmation - says all games shown live on Shootout unless otherwise noted. http://www.majorleaguesoccer.com/library/on_tv.html I'm pretty sure the Brit has the Shootout. Actually I'm gonna call now.
Shoot! I can't find the number and I'm still at work. Anyone have the number or can someone call them? I'm gonna get busted.
So are you watching it at Green's at 6? (HDTV) Kezar at 6? Kezar at 8? Don't want to be the one guy at the bar trying to get a soccer game put up there - for the 800th time.
Peeps!!! I want to see everyone tomorrow. And my Quakies too!! Does anyone have the number to the downtown Brit? Or can someone who does call them? We have to work on them now. There's a concert at the tank and they're gonna be busy. I know they don't like to show the games when there's big events at the tank. Anyone? Someone?
Which is free this weekend, right? I thought I read in some thread that the Shootout is a "free preview" this weekend... Where'd you hear this, Tom? I just checked the on-screen menu on digital cable and the only soccer games listed on that (for the shootout) are: 4:30 on ch. 421, 5:00 on ch. 422, and 8:00 on ch. 423 (and on FSBA ch. 40 as well). But they don't say what the games are in the descriptions. If they're really going to show the Quakes at 6 on Comcast's version of MLS Shootout, that rocks (and I presume the schedule will change).
Okay, I called the Brit. Kinda got a funky answer. Told me to call tomorrow morning to confirm that they'll be showing. But they do have the Shootout. So if they don't "black it out" (his words not mine) then they should show it. But they are having that concert tomorrow. And they will get busy. So if we're gonna go he wants to have an idea if it's gonna be a group of people. So, who's going?!
On the Cox Cable digital "guide" down here in San Diego, they show it as starting at 8:00 pm. At least that's what they were showing last night around 10pm when I checked. I'm hoping the guide is correct as I have to tape games tomorrow night to watch later and obviously don't want to get it all screwed up.
<fumbling with my brand spankin' new (well, maybe refurbished) dishnetwork remote> I found that tomorrows QUAKES game will be on live at 6 pm on channel 462. Cool beans! I just want to say one thing related to this DISH stuff--OMFG!! I don't have time now, but will relate later what has been the debacle of the installation of my newly acquired dish. sjqf--will you will beleive it!! -- but somewhat -- now. GO QUAKES!!!!
As of now, both my Comcast digital cable box and my TiVo still confirm (all times PDT): Channel 39 (espn2): 1:00pm - Los Angeles Galaxy at Dallas Burn Channel 40 (Fox Sports Net Bay Area): 8:00pm - San Jose Earthquakes at Colorado Rapids Channel 401 (Fox Sports World): 5:00pm - D.C. United at Kansas City Wizards Channel 421 (MLS Shootout Package): 4:30pm - Columbus Crew at NY/NJ MetroStars Channel 422 (MLS Shootout Package): 5:00pm - D.C. United at Kansas City Wizards Channel 423 (MLS Shootout Package): 8:00pm - San Jose Earthquakes at Colorado Rapids       HOWEVER...       According to iN DEMAND's website, two changes were just made recently: The Earthquakes-Rapids game on channel 423 was changed from 8:00pm to 6:00pm Sunday's Revolution-Fire game was added and will be shown on channel 421 at 4:00pm       I hope that my digital cable box and my TiVo pick up the changes soon.       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
How many flower pots did the installer break? I wouldn't have minded if he had told me, but he just did it and took off without saying a word.
True enough about the trials and traumas of dish installations and the subsequent (and very expensive) learning curve as you try to enhance and upgrade. However, I agree with what DouginSJ said earlier...Shootout + Tivo does = AHHHHH!!!!!! in the best sense! I have DirecTV. For those with that service, MLS will be on channels 794-796 (Quakes on 796 at 6:00pm Pacific)--all live, as Billreeves mentioned...then the tape-delayed version on FSBA (ch. 654) at 8pm. For those trying to convene at the Downtown Brit, since they have the Shootout, why don't y'all just go in for one of the preceding MLS games and get a hold on one of the TV sets AND a good table?!? Make a day out of it! You can beat the crowd and scout some of the other talent in the league. Thanks to the Tivo, I'll be recording them all. Go Quakes!!!
yea my digital cable thinghie says it starts at 10 my time, which would be tape delayed by 2 hours. hmmm, i wonder if thats going to change? It kinda sucks all the way out here, they dont really care what time the game comes on
I had kind of the same experience except my installer "broke" my internet connection. So everything went well with the installation yesterday (thursday) or so I thought. After 2-1/2 hours of this guy being at, on, in, and around my house, he said okay, let me show you how to use the remote. That was done and he left. A big aside: I proceeded to call Comcast (formerly AT&T) to cancel my cable TV. BEWARE! Comcast (formerly AT&T) users who have both cable TV and cable internet!!!! They didn't tell you this, but when Comcast took over AT&T they not only "combined" your monthly statement, but they also apparently arbitrarily changed the terms of any contract for service you many have had with AT&T. Because I disconnected by cable TV, my cable internet monthly rate jumped $17.00/month! I talked with three very baligerant (sp?) people at Comcast, all who told me that there was basically nothing I could do about it. A supervisor admitted that they NEVER sent any notices out regarding this change of fees. I'm infuriated enough that I wrote to 7 On Your Side. Maybe Michael Finney can figure something out. Anyway.... So I go to my computer to write that email to 7 On Your Side. Couldn't get online. Checked my son's computer...couldn't get online. Called Comcast (formerly AT&T) Internet this time. The guy there was actually quite helpful and had me trace all my connections. Lo and behold!! There was the cable connection sitting behind a pillow on my son's bedroom floor. The DISH guy disconnected it and used the cable from the internet connection to hook up the damned DISH!! I said, uh oh, bye bye to the internet guy and hung up. Called Dishnetwork, told them what happened. Said they'd try to reach the installer...it was about 5pm. Turns out the guy's phone was off, they assumed he'd gone home for the day and arranged with me for him to come out today (friday). (I work nights, am at work now [lull in the action], I had to be very specific about what time he could return. I'll give them this at least...he got there at a reasonable time for me.) Anyway, before they came to fix my cable connections today, I turned on my TV to check out my new system. When I did, I couldn't get any of the locals and more than half of the others channels. I was receiving an error message from the dish instead of programming! OMG, I was so freakin frusrated! I was without internet AND without TV for almost 24 hours!! ARGH!!!!! (oh my, that's sounds hella funny!) To end this long pathetic story, it turned out the dish was not positioned right and there was a faulty part (um, the part that picks up the signal and sends it through the cable). They created a new connection for my internet and that was that. He was gone. I pretty much kept my cool with the various installers the entire time, they weren't mean guys, they apologized profusely. My dish was working and so was my computer when I left for work tonite. I'm pretty confident the problem is solved now. Ya know this is a long and pathetic story, but believe it or not, I left A LOT of details out. Unbelievable!! NOW, Bring on those QUAKES games!! Like I've said before, I'm a QUAKES fan, I do what I have to do.
For Directv viewers, the first game can be watched tomorrow @ 6PM for free. MLS shootout is having a freeview from 04/12 - 04/19. I called today to order my subsrcription only to be turned down because my satellite isn't connected to my phone line ? Anyways there will be a few games before we kickoff on the 700 channels, if you can't see 'em then you'll know for sure !
Alrighty peeps, since I didn't get an answer from anyone expressing an interest in the Brit, I'm not going to call them tomorrow. Sorry, but I'm not even gonna be there for the whole game to begin with. I should have maybe tried a new thread to see if there was interest, but I was at work and then busy tonight. And since I can't get there early or even stay for the game, I'm just not gonna bother. I'll tape it and watch it right after the concert. I just have so much to do tomorrow! Sorry it didn't work out this time! Oh well! Next time we'll know and have more time to plan these things. Go Quakes! Tschüs!
My TiVo has just made its daily data update, and the proper schedule corrections and additions are now set.       So here is the updated Comcast digital cable televised MLS schedule for this weekend (4/12-4/13... again, all times PDT):       Saturday, April 12 Channel 39 (espn2): 1:00pm - Los Angeles Galaxy at Dallas Burn Channel 40 (Fox Sports Net Bay Area): 8:00pm (tape-delayed) - San Jose Earthquakes at Colorado Rapids Channel 401 (Fox Sports World): 5:00pm - D.C. United at Kansas City Wizards Channel 421 (MLS Shootout Package): 4:30pm - Columbus Crew at NY/NJ MetroStars Channel 422 (MLS Shootout Package): 5:00pm - D.C. Thanks, guys, for the heads-up!! I just checked our MLS Shootout cable listing and they've switched the Quakes to live, starting at 8:00 p.m. here in Texas. At first it was going to be tape delayed at 10:00 - man, I would have missed it! I'm already wearing my Quakes long-sleeve T!! Go Quakes
