http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/soccer/10261310.htm Any chance Dallas might look at picking up Ekelund? He'd make a nice partner for Valakari at center mid -- I imagine the key concern would be price.
HHHHHHMMMMMM.....While he is 32, he does have the experience that can help for any short term planning. Maybe until Nunez is ready? He isn't someone I wouldn't want to have on my team, but being a SI makes it risky.
Right now the Bulls have 3 SI's: Valakari, O'Brien, & Nhleko. So we have room for 1 more SI (or 2 should Toni be cut).
True, but with Clarke going on his scouting trips it becomes an issue. Plus the short or long term planning needs to brought into question. We safely know ROB and Valakari aren't going to be cut. However Nhleko can be axed as far as I'm concerned. If he is gone, I saw bring Ekelund in unless Clarke finds better options.
Sorry, not what they need. Decent player, wrong time. Striker for a million or Attacking mid for half a million He does not fit either of those.
While I tend to agree with you, but you can look at it two ways: short or long term. I'm tending to look at it as a short term prospect. Have Ekelund and Pareja split time in the middle.
Not the ON-field product certainly. You know with 2 expansion teams in our conference, SJ being Donovan-less and now Eklund-less, with Colorado in shambles and LA being coached by 3-6-1 - we should be a second place team next season.
Yeah, but Preki was in incredible shape at the time (and for how he played). Ronnie is not able to be the player he was - otherwise he would have been re-signed by SJ. We already have one beat-up field general.
Never. You can't spend that kind of money in Dallas. This is not LA or NY. FCD only got a player like that, Graziani, by trade. Viking is living in a dream on this one.
