Looks like Jason Bent will miss the game for Canada with severe blisters.

A draw will put Canada through atop the group. Allez les rouges!

Yo Scott, say it ain't so,about Jason Bent missing Monday's game vs.Cuba.IMO,J.Bent along with L.Hirschfeld were the two best Canadians on the pitch in game one vs.Costa Rica. His(Bent's) absense will most certainly diminish Canada chances for a victory this time out.Hope he makes it back before all is said and done.

    Cuban Team Info Wanted

Anybody have some insight in the Cuban team to share with us Canadians, we don't know too much about them, other than that they appear to be the hottest Carribean team right now?

    What do we watch for?

The stadium is COMPLETELY empty!!! There probably aren't 200 people there. There should be a lot more for the USA-Martinique match though.

if the result stays like this
Costa Rica is going to have to go All out on Cuba

Is cuba for real? Are they going to be a serious candidate for the CONCACAF semi-finals at least?

Cuba has shown great improvement throughout the years. In Last year's Gold Cup, the US had a hard time beating them, but eventually did 1-0. This year they seem to be tougher.
Remember, prior to this Competition, Cuba beat Jamaica 2-0 in Kingston.

    Here's the situation

If Costa Rica wins by 1 goal; Cuba wins the group, Costa Rica finishes second, and Canada will be eliminated.

If Costa Rica wins by 2 or 3 goals; Costa Rica wins the group, Cuba finishes second, and Canada will be eliminated.

If Costa Rica wins by four or more goals; Costa Rica wins the group, Canada finishes second, and Cuba will be eliminated.

If Costa Rica does NOT win; Cuba wins the group, Canada finishes second, and Costa Rica will be eliminated.

There is no way for Canada to win the group, to have a coin toss, or even random lots.

Damn, I had a feeling Cuba could win this, but I didn't have the cojones to come out and predict it. I just went with the 1-1 draw. C'est la vie. I didn't think Cuba dominated, they certainly played better than Canada in the second half, but I thought Canada played better in the first half, at least they created more chances, they just couldn't put anything in the net. Kind of the opposite of the their finishing efficiency on saturday.

As to how good Cuba is, they played terrific in the '02 Gold Cup, and they've started well this time too. I'm not ready to annoit them as contenders, but they've certainly improved a lot in recent years.

yes, they are! a week ago they beat jamaica for the same score on a tune up match.

Now, they may not be at the REAL level of mexico/colombia or the usa, but they may give the ticos a good fight....

the worse passing game ever seen in tv? canada did the best to look bad.... has to be the worse presentation of futbol for the red maples in history.

For a Canadian yes. Still it was an entertaining match and I enjoyed how both teams particularly the Cubans went after Canada down the right flank with long balls. It reminded me of the EPL 20 years ago.

Also I was astonished how easily Cuban was able to control play and direct their attack. They had a very good tactical game plan against Canada.

If something sickens me more than the way the Canadian defence was today was the Cuban manners on the field.

Playing like the Brazillians is going to get someone hurt.

One wonder if the Ticos are going to be suckered into the same thing.
